Yokohama Vs Michelin Energy Saver a/s . Does anyone have experience with these two tires ? I presently have the Yokohama tires that came on my Prius They have At least half their tread left at 20,000 mil . considering changing because I happen to have the extra money right now and I'm becoming obsessed with getting good gas mileage ... If I do change what can I expect the difference to be ? Thank you and realize Im new at this

Welcome to PC :)! Some here have decided to replace their OEM tires with Michelan Primacy:
    Michelin Primacy MXV4

These are superior for being quieter at highway speeds but they are expensive. They will be my next tires.

They also drop your fuel economy quite a bit. :(

A better choice for fuel economy would be the Energy Saver A/S. The Defender is another alternative if one doesn't need a ton of wet traction. They are more fuel efficient than the MXV4 and last a bit longer. For the price, the Continental PureContact and Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus are great tires but will cost you a bit in mpg compared to the Energy Saver A/S. The PureContact and Defender are probably pretty close in terms of mpg.

Yep, it's true about the mpg loss (slight...maybe 3 to 4 mpg). It depends how often the OP is on the road and finds the cabin noise level to be irritating. I'd gladly sacrifice some mpgs for the noise reduction.

With the Energy Saver A/S and Ecopia EP422 you don't have to sacrifice noise reduction for fuel economy. :)

I buy used tires. Two weeks ago, I got a "used" but unused 70,000 mile, BF Goodrich Premier for $10 & a "used" but unused Goodyear Eagle GT for $30. Last week I got a "used" but never used Continental ProContact for $20. Yesterday, I put two 50,000 mile used Mastercraft tires ($29 for both) on my car. Today, I saw a Bridgestone Turanza Serenity for $40, mounted on a steel wheel, balanced & ready to put on a car.
