For some odd reason I was fondling the underside of my dashboard underneath the climate control buttons and I found a little grippy lid thingy and I opened it and I found the ( I'm assuming) 12 volt outlet under there. I didn't know the C had one. There have been a few instances where I was like oh bring your car charger and I can plug it in. Then I'm like oh you can't lol. I'm glad I found it. :D

I also have it in my prius 07 under the dashboard with having 2 slots. Can you let me know the purpose of that outlet?

Maybe just in case you wanted to plug in two accessories GPS or cell phone. My old GMC Jimmy had 3 of them.

Yes that is the power outlet. Referred to in the "old days" as the cigarette/cigar lighter. Now we call them "auxiliary power" jacks.

Oddly, I just blew the power outlet fuse in my C with a defective tire inflator, and when I checked the fuse listing to replace it that position was marked "CIG"!

No I was partially wrong. Just looked at it and appears as AC 100V 100W written on the power outlet.

Note this thread is in the c forum and is about the c. The outlet being discussed here is a 12V outlet, "auxilliary 12V" or "cigarette lighter adapter", call it what you will. It's 12V DC.

I'm not familiar with the liftback and I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Do not automatically assume that a small 12 volt air compressor is defective because it blows the cigarette lighter fuse. Many accessories have a high enough inrush current to blow a 15 amp fuse. I made a small lead assembly with an inline 30 amp fuse that plugs into the under hood fuse block on the drive side. This allows most any current hog device to work without blowing small fuses. Note, if you look in the fuse block you will see a large gauge white wire that brings voltage from the 12 volt battery into the fuse block. That is where I hook my hand made cigarette lighter / fuse adapter.

I'd agree with you, Dick, but this compressor had been working fine from the power port until the last time I used it, when it slowed down, stalled, and blew the fuse. You have a good solution, though.

Questions about 2007 models generally belong in the Gen II forums, not here in the Gen III 'c' forums.

But is your car a used car that was originally sold in Japan, then later exported to your country? This feature sounds like something special for the Japanese domestic market (JDM). We have very few participants here driving JDM cars, so an answer might not come quickly.
