I'm six two but was able to sleep in the back of my new Prius C without bending my knees. I moved the passenger seat all the way up and titled it forward as much as possible. That gained me about another foot of space, which I built up to level with a box and some other stuff. I was then able to sleep diagonally.

I hate driving in Bay Area traffic. With this setup I was able to get to my destination at about 6 am, fall asleep for a couple of hours and have breakfast before my 9 am meeting. Saved about an hour over driving in traffic and woke up refreshed.

I didn't think I'd be able to fit, so extra nice to discover I could.

Do you have pictures of how you set up your Prius c for sleeping?

Not sure about Prius C but in all other Prius models you can slide the front seats all the way forward and remove the headrests and recline the front seat flush with the rear seat. Is that possible in a Prius C? And if you want to sleep two comfortably you can remove the rear seat back, remove the center console armrest and lay a lightweight small Futon mattress flat. I'll have pictures of the this setup in the Spring for a Gen2 but I'm curious to know if any of it is possible in a Prius C?

Alas when I push my C's front seat all the way forward and recline it sans headreast the front seatback overlaps the back seat bottom, and is a couple inches above even the folded down rear seatback.

Good information. Just commented on this same thing in another thread. Glad we have one of its own now. We travel 2400 miles sometimes and sleep in the car. Last one was a Vibe gt. This one is smaller but I think we can do it.
    Thanks,
    Dan

If anybody wants to tear out the inside of their Prius and redesign it to maximize the comfort of a sleeping/camping space I've done lots of research and would like to share ideas. I used to build campervans long ago and am looking forward to eventually doing something spectacular for Prius owners. Maybe even one day sell a conversion kit that's easy to install...

I'm looking to find a inflatable mattress that will fit nicely in the C. If someone were to make a custom inflatable mattress for it, I'd snatch that up in a heartbeat.

I've found custom mattress makers online, usually the ones who do it for motor homes are the most ideal, but kinda expensive. And I've never ran across an air mattress customizer yet. Have you ever slept on an air mattress? They're not very comfortable. But if that's what you want, I suggest looking for an inflatable pool flotation device/raft. Or I just did a quick Google search and found this: Custom Made Air Bed | Custom Size Airbed | Custom Shape Air Mattress Let me know if they can help...

Ideally (IMHO) what would work best is a custom cut futon type mattress with a layer of memory foam and about 4" thickness that can fold up in thirds and take the place of the rear seat cushion. If I ever get my hands on an industrial sewing machine I'd make you one...

What part of the country are living in?

If you're out on the west coast of US maybe we can work on something?
