I have decided that hardware (for me) with both RS232,can, and lan will work better. I may get a BMS plus from norm. The user interface (keyboard, monitor, etc) with duinomite have not yet worked out for me..

Can you be more specific why your Duinomite has not worked out for you. The main idea of using this forum is to get help.

PS2 Keyboard is not workable in Vehicle. Need USB touchscreen enabled :)

What interface do you use in your car with your duino ?

Hi Kiwi (I hope you don't mind me calling you kiwi),

I am only using my Duinomite Mega in forced EV mode. I only use PHEV mode a handfull of times a year. Last time I used it the status was showing EV mode when it should have been ICE run. So I do not get much of a chance to pick up any bugs in PHEV mode. FWD has been the only user to give me any feedback and I will eventually look into his suggestions. If you have any suggestions or if you have found some bugs in the program let me know.

At the moment I am working on a CGcolourmax1 at this forum The Back Shed: Adding CAN to CGCOLORMAX. I will make an update eventually. I know that you are an installer so you might be more interested in a colour version.

    Hi Skippy ...
    thats fine..

    1. H555 has DLC and CCL transposed
    2. Cat temps are 0 deg C
    3. PS2 keyboard not a viable User interface for driver
    4. Logging need a lot of improvements
ability to log continuosly in background from any screen
log file generations rather than write over LOG file everytime the Vehicle restarts CANVIEW
BMS+ cutoff voltage needs *protection" confirmation .. to easy to change on cursor keys only
    5. batt temperature on graph display page

Both devices use mmbasic so it does not matter which one you use. CGcolourmax1 needs to have a CANport added. Duinomite Mega is all you need but if you want colour you need to install a CAN port onto the CGcolourmax1. I will probably include two basic programs, one for the Duinomite mega and the other for a CGcolourmax1.

    To Skippy,
    :)
In Forced EV Mode .... very obvious problem ............
    MG1 and MG2 Temperature are transposed .........

observed on Duinomite CANVIEW and LOG data ....>>>>

When Convertor and Invertor2 Temperature rise while climbing hills
    "MG1 temp " rises to 38 Deg C while "MG2 Temp" is sitting at 23 deg C ...
Only MG2 is asked to provide Torque in Forced EV mode ... ?? right ??
    ;)

( the documentd PIDs for Gen II appear to be incorrect also
    7EA H24 Data(2) should be MG1 Temp
    7EA H24 Data(3) should be MG2 Temp )

    from
    Synergetic :)

See this link The Back Shed: Adding CAN to CGCOLORMAX

Give me a break, I am still making modifications to the Duinomite Mega basic program for all those changes you asked for. Then I have to work on the CGcoloumax1 basic program due to colour memory issues which means I will probably have to navigate between a lot of files just to use all nine colours at the same time. If you keep an eye on the other forum thebackshed.com I will make a post when I start working on a touchscreen interface.

It is very obvious. The UBW32 pcb only has one input i.e.miniUSB. It is a lot of work to add a VGA output, keyboard input, SD card device, 12vdc input plug, RTC, 20 pin GPIO plug and so on when I can avoid it. The CGcolourmax1 is professionally made and you cannot beat the quality of the soldering and the use of SMD instead of the old bigger electronic devices which makes the PCB a lot smaller.

I have been informed by Rob AKA CircuitGizmos that version 2 of CGcolourmax will include a CAN port. :)

dont understand your reply .. UBW32-MCC-PCB has all the interfaces and the PIC is SMD ??

The PCB has the following features:

    Standard 26pin GPIO header.
A second GPIO header, (see comment below).
    The RTC components.
    VGA and PS2 keyboard socket.
`push in/pull out' micro SD socket.
    An MCP2551 CAN driver.
    Power jack for (7.5-9Vdc).

I think you are referring to this device at

    http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/max/_gsdata_/_saved_/Programs/Hardware/Dontronics/UBW32-MCC-PCB/Manual.pdf

Can you give me a link to who is selling this device which is not DIY and a price.

I thought you were talking about Geoff's UBW32 development board.

Found one at Dontronics UBW32-MCC-PCB but It is a DIY job. Rather avoid SMD soldering. A machine does a much better job of SMD soldering. Rather have a ready made device which was professionally made. It seems that they are only available as DIY kits. But if you rather build one from scratch then that is your choice. I prefer not to.
Also the CGcolourmax1 is all SMD which makes it more compact and leaving room for added prototype area.

I never really looked at other options as I had read that the colour maximite computer was only available in kit form, well until CGcolourmax1 came along.

It looks like the UBW32-MCC-PCB only has a microSD card connector which means you need to add a microSD card device which is separate. The RTC battery and holder with plug is also separate and needs to be plugged into the PCB. It also does not use the CANport plug that is used by the Duinomite Mega which is better than just three pins.
