I just purchased the iPhone 5 and connected my phone with my 2011 prius using Bluetooth. No problem with the connection but can't get it to connect to portable player using Bluetooth. My iPhone 4S I was able to use the Bluetooth connection to play my music from the iPhone. Can't get the iPhone 5 to connect. Any ideas ??

Figured it out after a lot of googling. If you look at you stereo there is a manual setup button, under that menu there is a audio set up menu. You should delete your old phone first, in there you can also change the blue tooth sycn code for an audio device . Mine was factory set to 0000 so I changed it to match the phones blue tooth code 1212. You have to sync your audio device separately but you do it in the audio set up menu. Works as intended now.

Mine works great. However, I can only listen to music via bluetooth. Using a lightning cable to the USB port gives me a view to the playlists, etc, but no sound. Is anyone else having this issue?

Luckily, I normally am streaming bluetooth anyway.

While connected to USB port, try on phone, double pressing start button, then scroll all the way left. The icon that looks like an envelope sort of, has a drop down where you select the target for the sound (Car Multimedia) for me. I have only 4S but have had the similar problem in iOS both versions.

My phone works fine with iPhone 5 and my Prius 2010, but will NOT connect to the Portable Player. The iPhone just keeps searching for the device... I've uninstalled the old phone, and reinstalled the new phone...and changed the code to 1212...but nothing works. So frustrated.
Went to the Apple Store today and they said that possibly it was that the Prius software needed updating. Anyone found the same thing? I've bought and updated the maps files for my nav package (which seems sort of stupid given my ability to use the Google maps, but thought it was best to stay up-to-date) but that doesn't affect the software programs does it?

You need to pair BT for the phone and music player functionality separately. Instructions in the nav manual for BT music streaming. Also, you should pair either the phone or music player first (can't remember which, but it's in the manual) according to the owners manual .

Thank you! Was successful. Can't say exactly why it worked...but had the manual in my lap while doing it again, and maybe the Prius Nav gods were watching. I did the exact same things I'd done yesterday. Nevertheless, it worked and that is all I need to know. Thanks again.
