Just bought the Weathertech digital-fit floorliner for it. My partner keeps saying we need it for the rainy season, so now I'm out of $170 bucks. I have to stop buying expensive gift for the Prius. The Curt Hitch, now this... :)

Dropped it off at the auto-body shop to repair the scraped rear bumper after its close encounter with a wheel alignment rack at the snow-tire installers.

Town Fair Tire is covering the repair cost and the rental car: a plush Grand Caravan with XM.

Finally got to bolt on my license plates after California DMV got things entered in their system. I guess 5 weeks is not TOO bad.
The plates themselves are about 33 years old, I've had them on all my other cars for that time -- they are my Amateur Radio call sign.

How much does it cost to fix a scraped bumper? Just wondering for future reference.

I probably won't see the bill and I suspect the body shop will provide a courtesy deal to the tire shop. They needed to remove and re-paint the entire bumper and put on a new bumper appliqué.

Thank you for your post of the video of snow scenes of Harrogate! Am familiar with Harrogate, but have never seen it in the snow. Wifes best friend is from there. :tea:

The body shop gave me a copy of the invoice. $660.69 to repaint the bumper and apply a new applique. I'd hate to be the manager of the tire shop...

Oh you've been here before? How long ago? Is your wifes friend still here? She might see me whizzing around town. On the subject of our American friends, I have seen a couple US model Prius's (Prii) in town lately. One is a Gen1 classic and lives just down the road and I've seen two Gen2's. There are also quite a lot of UK Prius in the town now too (mostly Gen2's but half a dozen Gen3's) which is rather odd as you rarely see them outside of London. In London you have to pay £8 a day toll to enter the city unless you have a hybrid. Elsewhere there are no benefits as such other than great fuel economy.

Let my wife drive the '12 to work! My daughter drives the '08. I was stuck with 14 mpg in the truck.

Yesterday we had the spark plugs replaced (123+k miles). Wow. Suddenly gained back 3-5 mpgs. Just like that.

Just got back from programming the TPMS and clearing all of the faults on F8L's car. At least the xmas tree is now gone from his dashboard. :p

What's required to program new OEM TPMS's? Is this something I can do without taking it to the dealer?

I used Toyota Techstream, which is what the dealer and many independent shops use. However, an aftermarket TPMS-only scan tool will also work; any modern tire shop should be able to handle this for you.

I was able to get the Torque app up and running with my cheap Amazon OBD2 bluetooth reader. Now just to figure out where to mount my phone for easy reference.
