Can't wait to see these pics.

What did ur installer do to seal up the rear of the headlight?

When wotcher was at my house he had his kit wi him & I noticed that the OEM rear cover wasn't going to work anymore.

TRS used a cover on the back of the housing to seal it up. I think it's something they sell separately on their website - I would have figured they'd include it as part of the kit if they used it on mine. I attached a picture I'd taken to show what they did.

I'll need to drive around a little tonight to get an idea of how my alignment changes worked out. I was behind an Altima last night before adjusting, and the driver shined to the top of their trunk and the passenger was below the bottom of the trunk a tad when I was stopped where you could just about see the bottom of their rear tires through the windshield.

Yeah, that cover wasn't included in wotchers kit. Looks like he'll have to contact them. Thx

So your basically saying the cut off is horrible and to me it seems unbearable. I'm a huge fan of retrofits. For now I ordered some HIDs from TRS. I had them in my Subaru for a while prior to the retro fit.

    Not looking forward to this...

I'm looking for a used set of prius lights. I want to do the retro but being this is my primary car. I'm aiming for "0" down time.

I could probably sell you the ones I took off the car. I bought an extra pair of new ones as the prototype ones to TRS because there was no way I could take off the ones I had and send it to them.

Alright, here we go. If you look back to post #47 of this thread, you'll see 2 pretty equal comparison shots to 2 of the ones here with the quick-retro kit.

IMG 80 & 81 are about the same distance from the same wall as the wall shot on post#47.

IMG 82 is from inside the car just looking straight down the "road" in that parking lot.

IMG 83 is from my driveway where I normally park my car (closer to the garage door than the picture in post 47).

So it's hard for me to compare my vertical alignment vs the OEM projectors. I think they may be a tad high still, but what do you guys think? General thoughts on the comparisons? I feel like this light is brighter on the roadway than the OEM ones were.

Justin - did you ever get a pair of the Morimoto bulbs? If not, I can send you the ones from my OEM lights. I had morimoto bulbs w/ 1 DDM balast (big surprise, one went bad after 2 years) and the Morimoto ballast w/ D2S adapter from the original Harley kit lol - hey, gotta make due with what you've got around the house sometimes.

These are the TRS Quick-Retro with the 35W Morimoto HID kit for the Prius. Post 47 of this thread has the stock halogen projectors w/ an HID kit.

I don't know...it looks weird to me. It's it weird...it's different. I'm used to the regular cut off...seems to be effective though.

I think I'm going to get some h1's

I haven't install mine yet, so I cant confirm but were your projectors installed upside down? They don't look like pictures of the H1 that I have seen.

Wick 1ert.....looks like the high beam is on. I see no cutoff what so ever & this would explain why ur lights seem to light up everything.

I adjusted them last night after I lit up everything in the sky. Unfortunately, I don't have a flat surface to park on a certain distance away to properly align them. I think they need to come down a little bit, but the high beams definitely weren't on. I'll try to bring them down a little more tomorrow and see how it turns out. I think I was so used to the light coming out above the cutoff on the OEM that I have these too high still. I've honestly never tried to align a headlight beam before, either. Even if I could find a flat area to park on and aim at a wall, I don't even know what the proper height to aim for would be lol. If I go back to that wall, I'm thinking I need to come down about 3 bricks worth at a minimum.

Good to get some sort of confirmation of that. I figured there was no way that TRS would get both in upside down, since they did the actual retrofit.

TRS did your retro fit??? That's weird. Your cut off isn't normal looking. Looks like a rounded off hi be the more I look at it.

They did it because I was the proto-type test set so they had to make sure they got the fitment right, etc for their quik-retro setup. Apparently no one had asked about it for the Prius before, so I guess I was able to persuade them into making one.

Yeah, after I looked at my OEM cutoff on that same wall, it's definitely about 9-12" higher than that. I'll have to get my screw driver out again and bring them even further down.
