Would somebody please share your experiences with 18" rims on Prius with low profile tires? I read many posts/threads about 17", but couldn't find enough info for the 18".

I'm ready for MPG drop and I want to know more about any possible harm to the car battery and stuff! Of course, handling would be way better, look better! Is it compulsory to upgrade suspensions, brake....and so on? Please share people!

One of my stock tires needs replacement!

No personal experience yet... but plenty have done larger than 17" - just gotta look.

In general, be careful about total unsprung weight. Your car's suspension is optimized for a particular weight (tire + wheel + brake components + hub etc.). If you add a bunch of unsprung weight, your car's handling will suffer. You can give a Ferrari all the handling of dump truck if you're not careful.

I have had 18 on mine now for about a year you loose about 3-4mpg. Handling how ever is great no issues.

Nice! Do you have any straight on side shots? I'm undecided if 18s will work for me or if I'll need 19s...

Looks good. I like the black Prii..

How wide are your rims? Diameter size wise....I think I'm gonna have to go with 19s.

8in all around. 19's are nice, but the tires are twice as expensive, I drive between 150-200 per day that's why I went with the 18's. Good luck with your wheels. You could also drop it 1in all around if you go with the 18's. Make sure to post pics once you put the wheels on.

Great rims, nice ride! Wait, running 225, no rubbing!? I'm thinking of 215/35/18.... or 205/40/17... Just talk to one of local wheel dealers and they said Prius 2 on 18 would hurt car transmission in a long run?? It doesn't seem to make sense! What do you guys think?

You really need to consider wheel offset and width if you're worried about rubbing. If you plan on lowering the car then take that into consideration too.

is it necessary to also change the spring when upgrading to 18?
