Need Carfax help

    I am thinking of selling my 2008 Prius. I called a dealer that I had sold another car to and wanted to see if he had an interest. He passed saying the car had a bad Carfax. I was puzzled since I have not had an accident. He said it was in 2009 before I bought the car in 2010. I did get a Carfax from the dealer when I made the purchase. No accident listed. Then he rechecked and said that no it wasn'r actually a Carfax report but some other service the dealer had access to.

    So I would like to run a fresh Carfax now to see what is going on but I really can't afford to pay $40 for a report. Can anyone help? Thanks

    This guy sounds like he's not being honest with you... If the carfax was clean when you bought the car there's no way it could be go bad on you without you knowing.

    As an alternative to finding someone with a current Carfax subscription you can get online with Toyota and enter your vin# in and read the vehicle maintenance history report for free, which often has more info than a Carfax report has.
