I decided to make the plung and purchase a prius. I got a great deal and was able to get a couple of 1000 off the car. I traded in my Carolla and got a decent price for it. I purchased a 2012 Type 2 Prius and have no complaints now...I wonder who would complain with over 40 miles per gallon or sometimes 50.

I purchased a Blizzard Perl w/ Grey Leather Interior

    I have some questions though...

Is it safe to switch from eco to evo to power mode while driving or is this something that I should stop doing?

welcome to priuschat! congrats, that's a great color combo! feel free to change modes at any time, as often as you like. all it does is change the throttle travel response and suppress the a/c a bit. all the best!

I managed to get three bags and two carts in mine last weekend without dropping the back seats, bit of a squeeze
    but still managed it.

I think what impressed me also about the prius was I was in a dog class outside of course. A lady had a prius she left her car running for about 1.5 hours with the AC on and the dog inside with the windows down as well, so I asked questions like how is the power. She said there wasn't a lack of power, and she drove to Colorado with 2 great danes, the dog food, her luggage and her husbands luggage.

I have talked to about 5 people that have a prius and I haven't heard any negative complaints about the prius. So 3 days into having one I am impressed. I have gone about 180 miles and still have 3/4 tank of gas. I am also averaging about 20 miles more than what I was in the Corolla.

Congrats I also have a blizzard prius, I came over from a TDI jetta car. It was a diesel and I can tell you I love this car so far. I will admit that the power is not a good and the turbo diesel but its not a big deal, the gas milage is better.

Welcome! I too just bought into Prius with a '13 Type Two in red. Avg. about 50 mpg my first week, which is fine. Had a 2000 Insight which gave 60mpg though; It's for sale, if anyone's interested.
