Gonna Drink That Kool-Aid!

Amazing how after you become interested in a car you suddenly are surrounded by them. I live in a semi-rural 2,400 houses community and though a v would be an oddity, now I find them all over and in every color. Dealer can't keep more than 2 on his lot. Doesn't bother me, I didn't buy for the exclusivity and it gets twice the miles my last cars got and on regular.

 

Very true...have only seen one v and two cs but the liftback is popping up everywhere I go... but it was a Silver Pine Mica with CT plates in upstate NY in winter a few years ago that crossed my path and changed the course of my life!

I was one of those "waiters" back in 2008. Originally started looking in 2005, but was told the wait was six months or more. I think that just piqued my curiosity. In 08 we waited 12 weeks - gas approaching $4 per gallon. Couldn't wait for it to arrive. Loved it so much we went back to the dealer and put a deposit on a second one. Things didn't work out though and we got our deposit back. Now we have two.

I remember getting all the crap about the battery not lasting, how I would spend my life savings on maintenance, how I couldn't pass a moped because it didn't have any power, and so many other myths. Not hearing so much anymore when I tell everyone about the mpg and show them my gas bill. Believe it or not I still get odd looks from some when I pull into a gas station, but they are even more odd when I pull away and the next guy sees how little I spent.

Love the Leaf... and the fact she's not hooked up to a charger (unless it is somewhere other than the front of the car)makes me think she's doing OK on her charge...
