    My friend works at a Mitsu Dealership in the parts department and just told me that they are pushing the iMiev to Mitsu employees for $99 month!

    I told him if he didnt do it, I'd love to sublease it through him. I doubt he'd do that but I think it would be cool to have the car for $99/month.

    I talked to a Mitsubishi rep - this was originally apparently a VIP employee-only deal that they extended for a few consumers. I would have taken it if I had not just put down a deposit on a Tesla Model S.

    Those are two very different cars if I ever heard of them. I may put a deposit on an S as my only car. I guess they are opening a showroom here, so I will be able to drive it before I buy it.

    That imev lease should get people to try bev's as second cars. Its so cheap why not for the curious.

    Yes. I think I want to buy one, but I can't spend that kind of money without absolutely loving it. This week is bad, maybe next week. I'll IM later.

    Thought I'd revive this zombie thread - seeing it evolved toward the Tesla. Speaking of which, even well known cheep skate Howard Clark (Nissan Leaf Driver) pony'd up for an S - for his wife;

    That's the kind of marketing campaign I used to get 'she-who-must-be-obeyed' (SWMBO) on board ... and agree to put a deposit on the X. She's had the hybrid Lexus suv now for nearly 10 years, though it's had NO issues except for its 4 wheel alignment not being aligned. SWMBO may easily be the 2nd most frugal shopper on the planet.

    Hope you're living in SoCal (since Tesla seems to focus on having actually good service in CA, unlike here in the midwest), cause you're gonna get to know the Tesla service center people real well (especially if your car gets built near the end of the quarter). Our Tesla is many things, but trouble-free isn't one of them.

    I suppose that's why someone invented the, "growing-pains" phrase. We are well aware of that phenomena, having purchased the first year that the gen 2 Prius came out. Remember? . . . issues such as MFD failures, red triangle of death, loss of breaking, runaway acceleration, issues with traction control Immobilizing the car, ect. If we can handle that, then we ought to be able to handle such things in other cars. No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
    ;)

    I hope you don't have to add "douchebag service reps" to your list like we have.

    Nah, we take them as we get them. But to bring this back to the lowly Imiev Mitsubishi - lo and behold, look what I found in our company parking lot today . . . . we now have 18 out of 19 different plugins being manufactured this year and the prior few ;

    Sure . . . it a jelly bean - but at least it's out there for public consumption
