I tried to put PIP into EV mode today after engine warmed up but it said battery not ready or something like that. Charge at the time was approx. 85-90% full. Am I not allowed to use EV mode until it is completely charged?

OK. No, I have not been able to plug it in yet. I have appt with master electrician to install an outdoor 110v plug for me on Monday. I only took ownership of the PIP Friday. So new yet.

this was brought up in an earlier thread. basically, there is no way to engage the equivalent of "liftback EV mode" on the PiP. the EV button will only allow you to engage "true" EV mode (max speed 62 mph, much harder acceleration possible), and this is possible only once the battery display on the MID is showing you an estimated mile range (as opposed to individual bars).

    Full happens twice...

Notice how the first actually is more full than the second, based on the number value underneath.

The bars indicates less and is easy to see in contrast to the solid. Also, notice now the number goes away as the bars stay...

I'm a new PiP owner, but a long time 2001 Prius owner. I am confused by the display above. I plugged the car in all night last night. My display shows no miles, like above. And when I try to go into EV mode it says my battery is too low.
What must I do to get the electric range to show up?

Did the amber LED indicator at the charge port illuminate when you plugged in to 120v source?
Maybe you have to reset the ground fault button on the charger?
If the amber charge port LED isn't illuminated- you're not charging- check that first.

Push the power button inside the car after plugging in.

If you don't see this, it isn't actually charging...

Check your timer settings too.. make sure its not on.. and if it is, make sure the time is correct (AM vs PM)

If you plug in to the car and you see the amber light, that means the car has sensed power from the wall. This light will go out after about 10 seconds if the timer internal to the car has determined that it isn't time to start charging yet. If the amber light does not go off, then you might hear a couple of small noises as the charge starts (small fan coming on, relay closing, etc.?)

If the amber light never comes on, then you have no wall power...plug in your cord, or press the reset on the GFCI near the plug end...or check your wall socket for power.
