ABS and squeel and (!) problem with brake

    Can anyone identify why I get this squeel and soft brakes with the ABS and (!) warning lights lit? -Hilary

    Squeal is often the result of too little brake pad or shoe thickness; likewise soft pedal and ABS warning light. The warning light is reacting to the lesser braking on one or more wheels compared to others. How many miles on your car? Have your brakes checked by competent tech. And watch out for car not stopping in path intended.
