I just uploaded my first-look video review of the Wheego LiFe FSV. It's pure EV, has a 30kWh battery pack and promising 100 miles per change. Its footprint is just a bit smaller than the Scion IQ.

If you haven't yet liked and subscribed to What Drives Us, consider it. If you're into podcasts, WDU is a good way to stay current in the world of advanced tech vehicles and it's usually good for a laugh or two.

Why are we posting so many links to this guys videos? I can appreciate he is just starting out but honestly these are not "reviews".

A bunch of angle shots with fades in between and a terrible voice over. We know nothing more about the car except for the company talking points and this kid's suggestion we go tailgating and gain oil independence.

Wheego ready with LiFe EV build plan, 100 due by end of 2012

The comments don't make it sound good.
I'm not sure who would buy this thing over a $29,000 base 2013 US built leaf with a $7500 tax credit and perhaps other state credits and financing sweateners. The weego is $34,000 if you want air conditioning. Want something smaller? I'm not sure why, but there is the imev and soon to be released chevy spark. I like the idea of an American start up car company, but its got to have an advantage over the competition, and I don't see what is better or a better value about the wheego.

btw: I think Toyota was smart to pull the plug on real production of the iq ev. I don't think that micro car would have much of a market against the leaf either / prius phv landscape either. Its fine in as a small quantity demo vehicle to get feedback. This wheego has bankruptcy written all over it.

Yeah, kabin, I hate my voice too. :(

Danny, myself, and the other Moderators talked about different ways to bring some traffic to Priuschat and extend our reach. One of those ways is to do more than just post links to other people's news articles or videos but to create our own. So yeah, I'm doing what I can with what I've got (an iPhone, iMovie, and a headset). And yeah, all I know is what I was able to shoot at the auto show. And yeah, it turns out that it takes A LOT of raw footage to make even a 4-minute video.

But you see, before any manufacturer will give me a real car to drive around for a couple weeks to create an actual "driving impressions" review, I have to establish at least some 'body of work.' Until I get a car, this is what I've got. Also, it's 24 degrees in Chicagoland, there's a ton of snow on the ground with threats of more so I'm not going to start driving around test vehicles right now.

We will happily post any new and original videos anyone wants to create. Join the Automotive Press Association and the Midwest Automotive Media Association like I did. If you want to write a review, go for it. If you want to get a car, film it, write and record a voice-over, splice it all together and post it, we will promote it.

But I do appreciate the feedback.
I like the "kid" comment since no one's called me that for at least 30 years.
I do need a better microphone, that's for sure.

Poor Tony. I really wish the iPad let me watch flash videos so I can see why everyone is giving you a hard time. I rather like your voice. :)

I like your ideas for the next show too!

I appreciate your time and thoughts, Tony, even if you are a kid.

I like the Wheego, but would not pay the ask. I'll just stick to my bicycle, I guess.

I am sorry about the negative post. I've come to really enjoy visiting priuschat for interesting news and in particular for the great community. Original content is great, but don't try to force it! These past few videos have felt like filler. There is no need when there are so many interesting things you guys could do.

    Here are some ideas:

Why not add our own prius reviews? Many of us have gone to the dealership to get completely bogus or incomplete info from ignorant salesmen. I was told the PIP had 2 different batteries the nickel and lithium. I'm always finding different features on my Gen III.
I'm sure one of the moderators could find a friendly dealership (maybe Dianne?) to allow you "extended" test drives to get a real IN DEPTH review of prius's. Maybe a series of videos describing the HSI, the different nav options. I trust priuschat more than anyone to know what is interesting

Also maybe instructional videos- How do you glide on a prius? I've read on the forums that the advanced prius versions have "smarter" cruise control that automatically glides. Is this true? can we see it on video? How precisely can you use a code reader to increase fuel efficiency?

I would love to see priuschat make review comparisons between the PIP, the Volt, the C, the V, the C-max, the C-max energii.

Again, remember you carry the priuschat name with you and you could find dealerships that are game!

And as far as the voiceovers- I don't find the voice to be a problem, but they feel too rehearsed. Have fun and just talk to us, no need for fancy editing!

    These are great ideas, Germwise.

I really want to do comparison reviews. I'm trying to get practice (and feedback) now so I can dive in when it's warmer.

Ok, don't force it. Have fun. Got it. :)

I haven't watched the video yet (as I have no interest in the vehicle) but I drove one at Alt Car Expo last year. I posted about it at My Nissan Leaf Forum • View topic - AltCar Expo: Santa Monica, CA - 9/28 to 9/29/12.

The price on this vehicle is insane, to say the least, esp. given what I experienced. At least the dealer After Think, BYD and Coda, Green Wheels ready to sell Wheego LiFe in Chicago agrees. Can't figure out who would buy this vs. a FAR more refined Leaf that starts at ~$4000 less.

Linda is the real reason I listen to the show. Something about a woman speaking to you from a closet. *swoon*
