so you already have a 2012 Aqua (Prius C)? Or are you thinking of buying one? I am torn between getting my wife a Prius C or another Prius. She likes the C, but it's a bit small for me.

 

You don't own a Prius C and you've copied and pasted comments from a discredited review. This is probably not the best way to start out on PriusChat. Is there anything in particular you would like to know about the C, liftback or V from people who actually drive these vehicles? There are plenty around who will happy to talk about our real experiences as owners. The review you are quoting from has been discussed to death and generally is regarded as deeply flawed by people actually familiar with the car. Criticism of the review (both in forums and even by other publications) was so heavy that they actually published a defence of their review, which was also torn apart here on PC.

WilMent, there are plenty of enthusiastic c owners over in the c sub-forums... if you've got any questions about the c, don't hestitate to drop by and ask .

 

Well, I use the reviews for a starting point. After all, those people get to drive hundreds of cars per year. I test drove the Prius C and try looking for those negatives myself. On most things they are not "wrong." I believe their criticism came from unrealistic comparisons with other cars i.e. Honda Fit, Mazda 2, etc. Although similar in size, they are totally different cars. I think they were also disappointed at the fact the Prius C is not "better" than the original. Again, unfair comparisons. I mean you wouldn't compare a Yaris with a corolla or a Camry now would you? The Prius C, like other hybrid requires the driver to adjust to the car. A first drive review is not a very accurate review. Even though they have seasoned and skilled drivers, I believe they are more used to driving gas/diesel. I drove the Prius for 2K miles and I am still learning everyday.

C means City, Compact, and of course Cheaper. If I lived in a "real city" NYC and the likes, I wouldn't mind owning one. My wife and I decided against it because we live in the suburb, city by population. And we drive the highway alot. The C is definitely designed for a smaller group of buyers, it is not right for everyone. But IMHO it is a great little car, we are just not right for it.

Rob thanks, I've been to the C section enough times haha. I agree PriusChat is a better reference, and one should see both sides of the coin. Ultimately you gotta drive the car yourself to decide if it is right for you.
