I don't know the official name, but it's right above the highbeams, it stays lit if you just have your side lights on too...BTW, what's the purpose of it since we really don't have DRL's?

Anyone mod it with a different bulb, if so what's the size? Same ones as the interior map lights?

    That's the parking light.

Yes, many people have put in an LED bulb in there. Yes, same one as the map lights take.

My left one doesn't work half the time, something with the wiring? Anyone else with the same problem?

Edit: also, what are the led strips of 5 or so lights just below the parking light for?

Those aren't actually LEDs... they're just shaped like there's something there.
I suppose you could always bake the headlight, drill out the indents and mount some LEDs in there...

I have a problem where both sides, the 168 bulbs kept going out. A few times I was able to bump the light with my fist and the light bulb worked again. I switched the drivers side to an LED for the parking lamp and a standard 168 for the light above the headlight and that side hasn't gone out at all.

You can get inside the female socket w/a small jewelers screwdriver and pry the brass contacts a bit towards the center of the socket which gives it a tighter connection on the bulb.

Same, I would hit it with my fist.
Just tried a different set of led's with very large connections, and no problems. If it happens again, will do.

Hmm, I've put the factory bulbs back into it since the LEDs failed twice (heat issue?). The passenger side is dimmer than the driver's side. It's not particularly noticeable unless you're up close and notice one is more "amber" and one is a bit whiter.
