Just my opinion, but the frame seems to be a bit pretentious and only justifies the "smug" stigma.

And to cancel stigma is to embrace it right?

So if we accept the negative comments and embrace it then the "other" will just go on to something else right? Maybe they will go after the insight instead?

I don't know just my theory

FWIW, so far all of my friends loves the frame. But of course these are folks that knows me so doesn't count....

Used to have my "1199 Foundation" frame on my Gens I and II Prius, but switched it to my Miata- more likely to be driving a little more aggressively in it. But I do have a Bondurant School of High Performance Driving sticker on the PiP- just my idea of a little humor.;)

I would have loved to have a Carroll Shelby signed dash.
There is also the idea that since so many senior citizens are driving our car that people may be a bit more polite to us. Get out that AARP sticker and don't lift.

The one you have on the Prius looks laser engraved, no?

:DI like the OPs license frame on his Prius. Bottom line, he can back it up. If it makes someone chuckle, it's a better world. Cars aren't the best investment, but most of us have to have at least one. At this point in my life, my comfort level is high. My recent Prius purchase is a attempt to find the right vehicle now. I no longer have a desire for higher dollar, fancy, inefficient, or impractical vehicles. If I had a license tag frame on my other cars, it would say, "My other car (Prius) makes the MOST sense".

I like that idea. After buying the Prius I realized how much money I've wasted on all my other impractical useless shinny (D#$@) on 4 wheels. Steeling that line from a Bad boys movie.

Not really. Its like any stereotype out there. If you see someone acting the way of the stereo type, that just confirms and perpetuates the stereotype.

But its fine, do your thing. If I saw the frame, I would still laugh, but not for the reason you put the frame on in the first place.

"What do you guys think of my new license plate frame?"

    I think it sucks.

    That is all. Carry on.

+1. You'd laugh for exactly the same reason I do every time I see someone in a Prius forum phishing for a reason to boast about owning a Ferrari, BMW, or Porsche. In fact the last couple of months have been hilarious.

And you are just so superior, so excuse us peasants. Or is it the other way around? Envy is a good thing. Keep the money flowing and the economy going, something you probably don't know anything about.

    That's another great frame idea.

Have you done the 11-99 foundation runs at Woodland Hills with the group? It's a blast, unlimited speed, CHP escort.

Nope, I satisfied my need for speed on various tracks years ago.

How about a frame that says

    "yep, it's just a car"

Everyone has their reasons to buy a Prius, a truck, a Ferrari. So what? Unfortunately I think it seems to be in people's nature to be proud of their things, and they don't realize others may think they're jerks for it. I see bumper stickers down in Va that say things like, "my dog is smarter than your honor student" or "my grand kids are better than yours". My kids aren't on the honor roll and I have no grand kids yet, but I ask myself what is the sense in those statements? I immediately don't like those people but then try to rationalize that they are proud of their animals and grand kids and must be anti-honor roll stickers. They may not really be jerks, just making statements as we all do.

Those on the forum are obviously proud of their cars and show it every day. Many flaunt the idea they own a Prius, "great mpg", "beautiful car", "my baby". What's wrong with that? I doubt mrpcar is deliberately trying to rub our noses in his car collection, he's obviously proud of all of them, including his Prius. But it all boils down to the fact that they are all just cars.

Well said, personally I don't get bothered by any bumper sticker nor message in the back of people's car. I look at them as entertainment for the boring time I spent stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. Mostly I just get a good laugh, anyone that can get worked up over any message seriously need to take an anger management class so that one day they don't go postal and start shooting people up.

I think overall all of my posts and messages contains somewhat of a slapstick humor, and in addition I am a serious gear head that loves anything mechanical. Yes, you are correct I am very proud of my Prius. How many Prius owner do you know that would spend over $5000 on their Prius in upgrades and additions before the license plate even arrives?

BTW, I can see you are an seriously audiophile someone who is proud of his audio equipment. :) Good for you!
