Hi everyone! Just purchased a '10 Blizzard White Prius V. With 700mi under my belt so far, loving it especially after ditching my previus POS DD.

Like anyone else, itching to personalize it just a bit as its shared with my wife. Nothing crazy, jut the usual. So I got the following on the agenda:
    -Tint
-Toyota Europe Mud Guards (unsure if painting them is worth it?)
    -Blacking out the emblems
-Painting the rims (like the stock rims enough to keep them, would go with a matte black)

    Thoughts? Any tips?

Also, I'm almost done with the 1st purchased tank of gas, avg. 48-49mpg. Any thoughts as it looks like I might crest the 400mi mark. Lastly, if and when the gas is low, the last block blinks...this indicates how much is left in the tank?

    Thanks in advance!

Anywhere from 1/4 Gal to 2 Gal might be left. The tank is flat so there is not much change in level that the float can measure. If you run the car dry then you might need to put in 3 gal before it will restart and sometimes people have had to reboot the car by detaching the battery before it could be restarted.

I would (and have) install a shark fin antenna (Visual Garage is the one I bought mine from) and Weathertech (light tint) side windows deflectors. That should round it out nicely.

One of our members intentionally runs cars dry for fun, sport, and engineering curiosity. His Gen3 thread is here: [WARNING] Running out of gas (Gen III).

The real story behind the problem he encountered is found and described very deep in the thread, you probably don't have time to read everything to find it. But the base post seems to be an accurate measure of the fuel remaining in a 'typical' 2010.

Whether or not your particular car will be 'typical' is another matter. There is always variation from car to car, so some people will be unlucky enough to draw the short straws. Added to this uncertainty, fuel sloshes around on hills and corners, and consumption rates vary enormously under varying conditions, so you can never depend on going the same distance as someone else did under favorable conditions.

A shark fin antenna is on the list as well but is there any loss in capability? I would imagine some.

Thanks xpc & fuzzy for the blinking pip insight. Still glancing through the suggested thread, good read overall.

Wanted to post a picture of the front leather seats to see if the wear I'm seeing is normal (a plastic bar is visible). Figured a CPO Prius (MB Toyota) would be solid right? Which forum would be the right one?

Also, noticed the fluids were right above the fill for the expansion tanks the day after I purchased, took it in and was told the levels were fine as I wouldn't want the fluid at the full level line due to pressure. Not a car guru by any means but this seemed iffy at first. Thoughts?

After installing the shark fin antenna I experienced no loss in the signals received by it. The HD radio does fade in and out at times, but in the area I live in (Wash, DC) it did that with the OEM antenna.
