Thanks for posting pics. I am thinking of getting my windows tinted, but still unsure if I want to go dark, or if I want to go very light all around. Wish more people would post pics of their tinted Cs.

 

Just got my Prius C today! Mine is silver.
I will get 20% all around, debating whether or not I should have any tint put on the front windshield. Any thoughts?

I tinted my front windshield, however it is a clear tint only meant to reduce the amount of UV rays and reduce some heat. It is a slight slight blue and it gave the front windshield a cool glossy look when you look at it from the outside. Summer isn't here yet so I've yet to feel any major difference (besides piece of mind).

As far as a color tint on the front, you might get pulled over by a cop more likely than a side driver tint; which is also illegal in California. Check your state laws.

 

Do you have pictures of the front tint? I didn't know about a clear tint.

How dark did you go on the sides?

Yea, if I remember correctly that is the brand they used.

Here are two images of my Prius compared to my older car which did not have the front tint.

Some cars (like my old car) have a slight blue'ish tint at the very top of the front windshield to help with sunlight.
Image something like that but covering your entire front windshield.
You definitely see more of a glossy look in person, but from a distance you can't even tell (which is a good thing).

The entire tint job which was all the windows including the front was around 335$. The front windshield 135$ and the rest 200$.
They have an array of different tint brands and quality to choose from to fit your budget. The shop owner will talk you through all your options, show you the different tints, and not pressure you into buying any particular brand. I ended up going with the 3M brand. I had no idea all the options there existed when it came to tinting a window until I went there. If you call them over the phone they'll tell you what they offer and the differences; then you can do your own research.
I had a good experience there and would recommend them.

 

wow that white one with the tint looks bada**! first thing i want to do is get tint. (my car is still 100% stock)

 

The whites with tint and the front bumper blacked out look great. Almost made me want a white one.

 

what % did you get done on the fronts/back windows?

 

I'm considering getting mine tinted as well, but don't know what percentages I want. I think I'll leave the windshield with no tint and do legal in the front windows (stupid California laws), but don't know how much to tint the back ones to look good but still be able to see out of the car lol.

 

I appreciate the UV protection and enhanced privacy and "cool" look. But what at what level does the tint begin to impair night visibility?
