Now THAT looks classy!! Way better than the headrest mount trays. After seeing HBII this past Saturday, I have to say that your Prius is one sharp ride. Well done mods, Rodney.

    Hey Plus IV !!!

    Thanks for the compliment !!!

It was great meeting you in person at the event !!!

I do like the side mounted VIP Tables as they are quite different than what we see at the shows. There's no compromise to Leg Room or Shoulder Room with these side mounted tables.

    See ya soon !!!

Good Morning PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

Had an opportunity to install some new Mods to the HBII Ride recently :

Customized OEM Side Door Mouldings !!!

These OEM Side Door Mouldings make a great new touch to the HBII ride, I like the design of the Moulding however, I felt that the chrome finish to it did not match well with the SSR Wheels. And so, I came up with a plan !!!

    Here are my pictures !!!

Ordered Online these came Safely and Securely packaged

    Here's the Twist ...

I sent these to the great folks at Imperial Body Shop in La Habra, CA and had them painted to match Blizzard Pearl White (070) !!!

    Amazing Smooth Finish

    Installation Area

*I later removed the Clear Paint Protection "Triangle" you see here and cleaned the area with Rubbing Alcohol and a Microfiber Cloth, so that the OEM Moulding would sit Flat and Flush*

Clean the Complete Installation Area with Rubbing Alcohol and a Microfiber Cloth to remove the surface free from Dirt, Oil, and Road Grime

    Five Axis Method of Installation

*Alignment of the Side Moulding was pretty straight forward. Because of the slight curve of the item the Vertical positioning was key. To achieve the best flush fitment the Moulding was installed about 1/4th of an inch from the bottom of the door.*

*I also did not want to utilize the supplied "Hybrid" emblem. I wanted to continue with the JDM Toyota "Premium" emblem motif of HBII and so I had ordered a pair from Japan*

And in no time at all, everything was complete !!!

    Before

    AFTER !!!

Overall I am very satisfied with the Customization of the OEM Side Door Moulding !!! This adds a nice Clean and Subtle finishing touch to the lower panel area without detracting from the SSR Wheels !!!

    Happy Prius Modding Folks !!!

Wow, that looks much better than the silver finish look. Well done. What a great idea if you don't want too many shiny parts on your car.

I know this might seems redundant, but I'm looking at the Valenti tail lights from TWP buying. I was wondering if anyone has had good experience with them or bad experience. Also what was the wait time for the lights and what do you think of the quality. Thank you for your suggestions.

    Hello xjustinx,

I personally do not have experience with the Valenti tail lights.

You may want to create a specific post in the Gen III 2010+ Prius Accessories and Modifications | PriusChat as I believe you'll get better exposure there for Prius Chat members to help you with their experience.

    Hope this helps !!!

    Hey wotcher !!!

In regards to removal of that Clear Protection "triangle" removal, just lift of a small portion with a plastic non-marring type tool (I have one shaped like a butter knife) and once you get a portion lifted, just slowly continue to lift the remaining material !!!

And in regards to the Five Axis method, when you're applying any piece that is backed by 3M tape, you want to begin by only removing the edge of the 3M tape protection strip on one of the sides instead of the whole strip prior to mounting. Then secure that edge to the body of the vehicle. Align the product the way you like, then slowly pull the 3M tape protection tab you created toward the opposite end as you firmly secure the product to the vehicle.

This helps for ease of alignment and installation !!!

Hope I explained this well, and hope this helps !!!
