Stainless steel bumper protector

    Yes, unfortunately I have the hard plastic black one, only because I kept messing up my bumper with my golf clubs. I'd rather have nothing or at the vary least a clear one. They stand out toooo much in my opinion.

    Why not get the stainless steel one and have a body shop paint it in your car's color?

    Sort of defeats the purpose. I'm sure if someone painted it they would just start to worry about scratching the protector. Plus the cost of the guard+paint wouldn't be much less than reprinting the entire rear bumper.

    Body shops charge $500+ just to paint the bumper.

    Even stainless steel bumper protector can get scratched to hell. I just teach my Alaskan Malamute to jump on/off high enough so as not to touch the bumper, but I understand that not everyone has big dogs.

    My Havanesers won't do any harm to the protector.....it's the wife with the shopping bags...

    those big ol' black bumper guards are more to protect your bumper from the car that is parking in back of you than your groceries, though.... and that cute stainless thingy does nothing to protect against bumper to bumper scratches...

    That's why I have a "cute stainless thingy" to prevent groceries from scratching the bumper (top side)......
