You will have 7" from the bottom of the kit to the pavement.

Is that with or without the Plus springs?

Piece of cake :p My Ion Redline is 7.5" and the wife's Sky Redline is 5.5" and either car is fine driving around town with care.

I will for sure get the Plus body kit now ;)

    Thanks a bunch,
    Mike

So how did it go? I have the ground effects kit sitting in my house waiting for install and the springs and sway bar in the mail. Looks like I may end up having to install the kit myself :(

Well first a couple pics to show you what it looks like :)

And the other side at a lower angle :)

Driving around I have no problems. I take care on driveways and don't even think of driving over speed bumps because there are other ways to get around besides going over those bumps. Handling is excellent. Very flat cornering. Comfortable ride yet firm but not tooth rattling stiff. No push & no understeer. I have no idea what the alignment is at. Ground clearance is 7-3/4" at the front lip, and 6" at the side skirts. The body kit does NOT sit any lower than the floor pan. If you can scrape the floor pan then you can scrape the body kit.

Now on installing the body kit, is it possible to bring your car into your dealer and have them install it? There has to be a set rate in their books for the Plus Perf Package kit installation. Hold off on the body kit install until you either find a dealer that will do it right at a reasonable price or you can get some practice on drilling clean holes and running the rivet gun without crunching fingers and getting the rivets seated tight every time. When a rivet is ready to break off it's pin, it is very very easy to catch a finger between the handles and man it will hurt :( It appears the actual painted body kit pieces snap onto the carrier that is double stick taped to the car as well as riveted. If you mess up a rivet, it has to be drilled out with a slightly smaller diameter drill than the rivet outside diameter. You don't want to drill out the original rivet hole any larger or the replacement rivet might not be able to grow large enough to pull the carrier tight up to the bumper cover.

Thanks man. That's just the look that I want. I think i will follow your advice. Im anxious to get it done but not anxious enough to mess it up and end up needing a bumper. Your look is exactly what I'm after in black. Congrats.

Others will have tips, tricks & ideas that could walk you thru an install. Sometimes it is easier to have a shop get-r-done faster and save you the stress, sweat & sore back. I am very happy with my setup. It looks saweet, drives awesome & gets good mpg's :) Get your camera warmed up and post some pics once your done with your project [IMG]

Hey F8L, I have a Prius C Model 1 and I swapped out for 17" wheels. They look amazing and handle quite nice. I do get a rub when I have a heavier passenger or four people in the car. Can you advise me on what I should do as far as replacing the springs? I wouldn't mind coming down just a little but I need it to be stiffer so it doesn't rub. Any help would be awesome. Oh I can't afford coil over ajustables yet.

    PPP in BP looks sweet!

The other thing I noticed is just like BMWs, the wheels are places near the ends of the car.. this was for handling but it helps reduce scraping going up and down driveways too. Another tip, if not already mentioned, is take the approach at an angle. My lowered BMW's all had less clearance and I rarely scraped.

    Hey! :)

Honestly, if you already have rubbing issues with stock springs then I wouldn't do lowering springs or I would just save up for coilovers so you can adjust them as needed. There is a set of Teinsfor sale for $850? Right not in the Classifieds section.

You will likely wear out your OE struts faster with lowering springs and those 17" wheels so if you plan on keeping the car for a long time I would just bite the bullet and get coilovers. I know that is not the answer you wanted but it is the most economical and least likely to cause clearance issues. Plus you can adjust the height to your preference. No nice person sag with coilovers! Haha

The Plus Perf package turns an already cool Hybrid into a jaw dropping cool Hybrid :) Good handling & good looking car. Did you get the Solar roof option? That by itself is super awesome. I couldn't imagine not having it [IMG]

You could give your PiP to your wife and buy a BP Four Solar Plus Perf [IMG]

I'd be back in style again for sure. Alas, she loves her RDX too much. I don't blame her. It's quite nice and has great power. It out-handles my PIP. :(

Stuff a Camry Hybrid system under the hood of your Prius and do the coil over suspension. Prius sleeper [IMG]

I just got done driving a '13 Murano about 1800 miles. Not a whole lot of space to hide stuff inside but that thing had some nice passing power :)

I'm waiting for someone to do that swap. I test drove the Camry Hybrid when deciding on the Prius and it had great merging power onto the highway(y) . In a lighter car like the Prius, it may be almost outright fun!
