Those volts really are popular in Cali.

Just ordered a 25' yellow 12/3 extension cord. I actually use the same one in my garage since I don't have a L2 charger installed yet.

You know to be honest at first I did not like this color much but it is really growing on me. I am actually considering it. It will be between the dark grey , white or blue. My guess...probably dark grey.

Unfortunately, I hit a small piece of debris on a freeway. It bounced up in front of me from another lane, hit the edge & top of the hood. The traffic was heavy enough that I could not avoid it.

What do you recommend I should do for a touchup?
The scratch on top may come out with a polishing compound (maybe wet sanding as well?).
The edge looks deep enough that I would need to paint to fill in the chipped area.
What do you guys think I should do?

Touch up will look touched up, but it's not worth a $500 repair/repaint job. Next time, get the 3M film. Only costs $300.

agreed. i nicked my rear fender and had an autobody place touch it up rather that do the whole thing. it looks pretty good, but it's noticeable.

The problem I have is, there is so much touchup "how to" info on the interweb, so I just don't want to make the situation any worse by following the wrong "how to".

I called Toyota parts department to find out they have the 8W1 touchup pen for $16. I can get the touchup material on the web for a bit less, but I figure the knowledge & skill is probably more of the factor than the cost alone.

I am not majorly concerned about the perfect cosmetic match, but I would expect to look "ok". I want the touchup to be done correctly so it would not cause rust spots (even though I am in CA) or further damage.

I would probable pay $50 to have someone do this right. If the job is $100 or more, I would probably spend a bit more extra time to research this to do this right myself. I am sure there would be more stone chips in the future so the knowledge would not be wasted. I was hoping someone already has gone through this process to learn from it.

    TIA

:)Check with your local dealer. All dealers have paintless dent repair, paint touch up, wheel people who work on their vehicles. Most of these people are skilled and the price is fair. Check with your service people for names and their schedule.

Agreed, I told the body shop just to touch up a few dings. They turned out really good and a lot less than a complete paint job.

Thx. The 1st picture was in Monrovia, CA. I only use the Bra for Highway driving. Best way to avoid bug and rock chips :) The leather interior is "Katzkin"

I just bought this 2014 Prius, and I was having a hard time figuring out what color it is. Thanks to this forum, I believe it is Clearwater Blue Metallic. When I saw it, I thought it was green. In the pic, though, it definitely looked blue. I wondered if I had suddenly developed blue/green colorblindness. When I found a pic of the seafoam green, I could tell the difference. I kinda like how it looks different from time to time. fullsizeoutput_1f4e.jpeg
