Traded in the Wife's Lexus for a Rav 4 EV. Can't beat $20k ($10k from Toyota, $7,500 Fed, and $2,500 CA state) off of the $51k price.

And she can charge for free at work.

So now we spend $30 every 6 weeks on petrol.

Wow is that thing fun to drive as well. I sure don't think it is a $50k vehicle, but it sure as hell is a $30k one.

    That is awesome!
How do you get these numbers? $10K promotion from Toyota? or $7500 from Fed? Should be $2500

Ok, it is Rav 4 EV. That is great. I would choose it over PIP if it was available in my area.

I've been trying to convince my wife to trade in her RX for a RavEV but no luck. She loves her gas guzzler.

Yea, the Rav 4 EV is a little skimped on features. No power seats, not full softex seats, no power rear hatch...

But it is one hell of a car for $29k.

I posted this in the PiP forum because I have a PiPa

I was out looking at one when I got roped into buying my PIP. I drive too far for the RAV4Ev to be practical though. I was disappointed in the appearance and the interior but that is partially due to the fact we just swapped from a 2006 Rav4 to a 2012 Acura RDX which is a HUGE upgrade. The RDX MSRP is $40k so I kept thinking I would see similar features in the Rav4 Ev. I was very disappointed that I didn't until I remembered the Rav4 is a full EV AND the incentives are HUGE!

If I drove shorter distances I would have got it. Good choice, man. :)

My wifes 2011 Prius just got hit again and needs 4 days in the Body shop, didn't I read somewhere you can rent them from some dealerships? Figure this is a good opertunity to give it a try if I can.

Yes, you most definitely can. Some folks on MyNissanLeaf rented them, such as Tony Williams, before he bought his.

The Rav4 EV is sold by dealerships in CA only. That's why it looks unfamiliar to some.
