Does anyone know where the flasher unit for the Prius V is? If you try hearing for it, seems like its somewhere close to the center HUD. How do we get to it.
I am trying to do this mod
Sequential Turn Signals, One Touch Turn Signals, Challenger Sequential Taillights, Sequential Tail Lights, Mustang, Dynamite Stick Sequential, Pulsing Brake Light Pulser Flasher, Raxiom, Amrerican Muscle, Stack Racing, One Touch, Blink Blink, Corvett

    Thanks all!

I'll try and look for mine later because I would love to add this to my v. Thanks for the link. I'll let you know if and where I find it.

Still looking. I searched in the fuse block and through the owner's manual for the location but no luck. It's not clearly labeled but I will try actually using the turn signal and listen for the relay. I doubt that works but I really want to find it to verify if it will accept this one touch module.

Bump for a little help from the other forumites. I looked but can't find it. I referenced the other threads on the 2010 and 2011 Prius cars but I couldn't see the relay under the dash above the brake pedal.

    I'll keep looking though.

    Thanks,
    Andy

Thanks for looking. When I heard with the flasher on, it seemed to come from within the HUD screen in the center stack. Then again there was another observation. Turn the signal on as soon as you power up the car. The standard door ajar/ seatbelt off beep seem to overrule the flasher beep which makes me wonder is the 'tick-tock' sound of the flasher being generated electronically? A mechanical units sound should overlap with any other beeps.

Jump over to the Toyota Information Service website and pay the $15 bucks and download your service manual. It will take some time, but with it you can find that dang relay and start taking the dash apart to replace it. You are aware you will have to take the dash apart right?

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering if there was such a way to get the information.

If you're going through the trouble of replacing the flasher, there's another option to consider that seems better than Web electrics one, google "tapturn flasher".

Completely the wrong type of flasher! I have one, it will trip the turn signals just fine.
The flasher that the OP is looking for controls the blink rate.
The incandescent turn signal flasher unit will flash at double speed to let you know a bulb is burned out. LED's, to that type of flasher, act like a burned out bulb!
The Turn Signal flasher the OP needs it built for LEDs, thus eliminating the high flash rate.

I just went back and read OP.
You are not trying to put a Mustang 3 lamp sequential flasher unit into your v are you????

TapTurn flasher is the right flasher for Prius (not Mustang?!) and it's built for LED and/or incadescent bulbs. No hyperflash is one of its advantages regardless of bulb type. Not sure of what you're saying.
There's an easy way to know if signal bulb is not working ... each time you lock or unlock the car do a visual on the side you're approaching from. Look for a flash at the corners!
