Top 1% on fuelly. Makes me wonder if it will normalize as the miles and gallons accumulate and fuel filler shutoff averages revert to the mean.

In warm conditions and good driving it would be quite easy to have a 52mpg average in a v. A GenIII or Prius c has no trouble getting 58+mpg in similar conditions.

The key are temps above 70F, no AC use, and driving at lower speeds (<65mph).

Nothing is wrong. You are driving slow which means the aerodynamic loss of the v compared to the Liftback is minimized. You are also experiencing very warm temperatures (90F+) compared to the rest of the nation. I get my best mileage in 95F+ temps. Warm weather and slow driving equals awesome fuel economy.

Curious your process. I have only 38.1 on my second tank and that was being careful. I was told it will kick in and not to drive it gingerly as if you drive like a grandmother, it will adapt and you should drive normally. At 800 miles. Some interstate and in town.

Wow 52 MPG on a V and a Rookie driver.

We have a natural born hyper miler.

    Keep up the great work.

Keep in mind the fuel economy gauge on the dash is anywhere from 5-10% positively biased. Directionally it is a great tool (ie getting 45 is better than 40 on the same gauge) but to really know your fuel economy you need to do the miles on trip odometer / gallons pumped to full tank at fuel up math.

I've tracked my Trip A FE gauge vs my fuelly.com measured FE for all of my fillups and see 5-10% bias.

Good driving though and it is a very fun game to keep trying to beat your maximum FE for a tank.

And since there is no single Prius v reporting 52 MPG on fuelly, it will be interesting to see how his MPG works out over a couple of tanks of gas (to take out some of the variability of the fuel shut off at the pumps).

I notice my trend was the second fill up was the best, when I was consciously driving for mileage. I no longer am as focused on that (and it got cold) and I lost 3 MPG.

Still, even a dash reported 52 is impressive.

I have a 2010 model 4 with sunroof I just went to 90,100 today. My mpg worst 46.7 best 58.2 average gas in miles out is 50.4. I log every tank as it is used for business. This is clearly the best car I have ever owned. Best mileage is always right after the Toyota oil change. Yes I run my tire pressure @44 lbs.per.. Thanks for reading D

This is a nice time of year for high numbers on the fuel consumption meter(s). My last ~ 1200 miles are 54.0 MPG, and my last ~ 700 miles 56.9 MPG.

I'm tempted to waste a few days of time off from work to bust into F8L's high MPG tank listing by driving a city only tank.. I'm reasonably confident I can hit 70 mpg and 800 miles on a tank. Just so all the G3 and 'C' owners know the vagon can keep up ;)
