well i still havent pulled the trigger. been dealing with my jeep that wasnt running. got it running today, but think it needs the camshaft circuit synchronized.

anyway, been thinking more about which prius model to get. now im leaning towards a 3 or possibly a 2 and maybe save some coin to spend on modding it. the reasons i was going to go 3 was for the solar roof, back up cam, and 3 door SKS system. im now convinced the solar roof is not for me. and then i saw that there is a kit that gives the 1 door SKS models 3 door SKS capability. so that leaves the back up cam... and a question for you all...

do you guys use your back up cam often? is it something you cant live w/out or do you barely ever use it?

:)Probably not as a set, but plenty of Prius Plug In owners looking for a single Prius wherel & tire to use as a spare tire.

:)Great feature, I have it on my Prius and another car. Great to have, but as a OA (older American), I only truly trust turning my head and looking before backing. Old habits are hard to break.

I picked up a 2013 persona back in March and really like it. The stock audio is awesome! Even with the bass at the middle setting it's shaking the mirrors when you hit 40+. Oddly enough the volume limit is 63. I use my backup camera every day as I park in the street infront of a car, it's sooo helpful.

Ask any other questions you have and I'd be glad to answer them. I can take pictures of anything if you want as well. I am planning on upgrading the interior lights in it as they are very easy, lights are on order now.

right on! i appreciate the help. sounds like the 3 is for me.

does the 3 include a sub?

aside from audio the mods ill be starting with are lowering springs and stiffening the chassis/frame. i have not seen much on here regarding shocks for the prius... if not going with coilovers what aftermarket shocks would pair well with the TRD springs? or are the stock shocks decent?

coming from a jeep so coil springs to shock combinations are quite important for ride quality. and since this isnt a jeep i want it to ride like a lexus.

Sorry I don't know why I never got a notification of your reply. If you are talking about a dedicated subwoofer then I don't believe any of the models have a sub. The speakers are just loud.

With regards to the shocks, I haven't messed with mine, but I do think the ride is a bit bumpy than most other cars or I am just imaging things.

well i finally did it! drove off the lot today with a new winter grey 3. thought about ordering the Prius Plus springs and sway bar, but figured i would probably be able to find them cheaper elsewhere. oh and where can i find the black center caps? i can only seem to find the chrome caps...

Looks good. Try plastic coat on the caps.
Enjoy the MPG, just hit 48 on my first tank. I have had the car a week and have a lot to learn but this board has been awesome.

thanks! it was between that and black and the grey won. its got the dark interior. lots to learn still.

yeah i am planning on getting some plastidip and doing the badges and maybe a few other small things. so getting some for the caps and wheels isnt a bad idea. maybe a charcoal grey color? will plastidip stick to the headlights? i may attempt to do a dipped eyelid.

cant wait to dig in more to this car. and yes this place is great.
