Sorry about the confusing, please allow me to revise this. Okay, after you had your car lowered, do you see any major uneven tires wear on the TRD springs and how miles tire thread do you think you'll get when the car is lowered?

I think he's wondering if the lowering springs will shorten the life of the tires due to the "butterfly" effect that people were talking but earlier

With TRD springs drop being so mild, with a basic wheel alignment, which will adjust toe in this case, it will not.

"butterfly" is camber. The TRD springs will not change camber outside the acceptable range.

What most likely will happen to increase wear is because of improved handling, the driver may drive more aggressively which WILL increase tire wear.

If the installer knows the tricks to setting camber they can almost guarantee you identical camber left to right; around -0.7 degrees in the front.

There is easily about a degree of play in stock struts up front so just blindly throwing them in you could easily end up with +0.5 on one side and -0.7 on the other side.

If u don't mind getting rapped, then sure. The dealer will probably charge u a min of $400 just to install. U'd be better off just buying them & getting an independent shop or DIY'er install them for u

You know, if your going to try the spring swap, your going to have to take the strut towers apart...you might as well install a strut tower brace since your gonna be right there...

    ...had to try it...lol

For those with the TRD drop, have you experienced any door scraping when parrellel parked along side curb and front passenger swings door open? Of course it depends on a number of factors, but in general?

I've never had any problems with mine but I don't park like that frequently...maybe once or twice since I put the springs on

My wife has scraped the front passenger door while getting out one time. This is while stock height. So a 1" drop would make it worse. I guess as a temporary fix I'll throw one of those door stops found on the cars on the dealer lots until I find a better solution. [IMG]

Simple bolt-on install; less than an hour start to finish (for first time install)

none so far but it's all about being observant. It does increase the risk as car does sit lower.

yea I'm pretty observant, it's my wife that needs to adjust to a lowered vehicle:cautious: . Hence the temporary door stop on the door until she gets the hang of it(y)

what part? Some is the result of the rack and some is observation.
