You took it "off" by injecting the bully boy politics so not sure why you are amazed.

Murdoch controls more of media in UK than US and was Thatcher's PR man much as he was Reagan's in the US.

The deregulation of financial sector was the crown jewel of Thatcher policies. The results are clear. The regulations Thatcher took down were put up during the Great Depression to keep the financial sector from running amok. Removed, the financial industry repeated its mistakes. You can certainly blame succeeding governments for not fixing her mistakes but they were her mistakes nonetheless with terrible consequences.

    Infamy and famous are similar.

Yes, I can believe that. With the current NK stuff - the first such flare-up I've been involved in at this sort of level - I've been astonished at how different media reports and real life can be.

Thatcher left office in 1990 and her party in 1997.

This thread would be a lot shorter if not for one poster with time on his hands to quote everybody else often out of context to "prove" it's all Thatcher's fault....as GrumpieCabbie pointed out, her government was followed by over ten years of Labour and the 2008 meltdown was on their watch - how is MT responsible for that?

MT is not responsible for all that is wrong as one unhappy poster has been ranting on this thread, nor did she do everything right. I hardly ever go far into political topics.

    Enough has been said.

Actually you'll notice it is all the Thatcher fans who posted "yuk-yuk" comments about Thatcher and Reagan having sex (with pix) and then "yuk-yukked" that into Clinton, JFK and Obama having sex (with more pix)...and then they get all self righteous about people correcting their lack of facts on their "Thatcher saved the world" Fox News/Murdoch fluffers...and ask for a little respect.

Little late for that after all the sophomoric "humor" posts.
