Easier to control Pandora from the Prius screen than iPhone screen.

A permanently mounted iPad Mini instead of the Prius screen would be interesting but a constant burglar target and the hassle of mounting and dismounting all the time. Same issue with the phone.

To clarify, I just need to start Entunes on iphone then I put it down. Here's the $2 cradle I found. Still working on best way and place to secure it.

Honestly, I think it's ridiculous to mount an Ipad in driver's position for so many reasons.

There's no need to start Entunes on the iPhone or take it out of your pocket. You do that all from the Prius screen.

Granted the $10 holder is cheaper than the $30/month tethering subscription for the iPhone that allows completely hands free, unwired usage in the Prius but the tethering has proven to be a great broadband connection for my iPad when traveling.

I don't think that's true. I have had numerous connecting errors but will confirm.

Confirmed iClaudius, in order for Pandora to stream you must execute Entunes on the iPhone. This is for my 2013 Persona.

You don't actually. If you have the tethering option on the iPhone, you can run all the internet functions on the Prius system, Pandora, Traffic, Bing etc. without ever taking the phone out of your pocket. Without running Entunes on your iPhone. The Prius uses the internet connection provided by iPhone to log in and start Entunes.

When I've looked into it the tethering option has appeared to primarily be a business customer feature. How much more does it cost than just a phone plan?

I think it is $30 a month. It's been great for travel with my iPad and the bandwidth is excellent. It's great in the car as I don't have to take phone out of my pocket, no wires, no USB (which is a problem with the Prius as it USB freaks out if plugged into my Mophie case). Great backup at home when we have power failures.

Worth it to me. Can see why others would balk at the cost.

But it does provide the perfect setup for the car/internet interface.
