Is the Prius C same as Yaris Hybrid in Europe?

    Looking at images I don't see any difference between these two cars except cosmetic (different headlamps, brakelights, etc).

    shortened? I thought a c was longer than a Yaris?

    No idea why they claim the c is shortened, wheel base is one and a half inches longer than Yaris, 98.8 vs 100.4 and the c's total length is longer 153.5 vs 157.3

    Because they don't check their facts? Most people won't check anyway and will believe it's smaller than a Yaris cause it looks small.

    That's funny... I would have said that the C looks smaller than the Matrix, but no way does it look smaller than the Yaris.

    Yeah it's between a Yaris and Matrix in overall length.

    So besides length, any otherdifferences from Yaris Hybrid and Prius C? I kinda wish Toyota had brought the Yaris Hybrid here, but then again they probably saw how well the C was selling in Japan and decided it might sell well in the US too.

    Probably equipment but in terms of the hybrid system, I believe they're identical.


    Well it's easier to sell a smaller Prius that's $5,000 less than the regular Prius than to sell a Yaris Hybrid that's $4,000 more than the regular Yaris. (Assuming the same $18k starting price for the hybrid.

    The Yaris Hybrid is made in Europe, the Prius c in Japan. If Toyota will be shipping it anyway, I bet the home country always wins.

    The chassis length is not the overal length of the car; the wheelbase and overall length are pretty much independent of the chassis. Detroit has altered wb on the same chassis so many times it became a useless talking point.
    How about rear disc brakes on the European Yaris Hybrid?

    The Yaris HyBrid in europe has smoke headlight with LED running light and LED tail lamp which is very nice.

    Not always true... Toyota Australia exports in the region of 2/3 of their output - last year it was 70% - primarily Camry and Aurion models going to the Middle East. They also export engines (including hybrids) to plants in Thailand and Malaysia.
