    Good for Edmunds.

At least their recommendation is counter to Consumer Reports, which more or less severely discounted The Prius c and recommended buying the standard hatchback.

I like the Prius c, probably the biggest reason I did NOT get one, was that it was so much like The Honda Fit I was coming from, in size and layout.

I would of been comparing it to the Honda Fit constantly....at least with the regular Prius, it's different enough in size, that I'm not tempted to compare it directly against my old Honda Fit.

But it's nice to see the "c" get some kudos.

I decided my next car would be a hybrid. I admittedly didn't know very much about them besides my thinking that the Prius wasn't too nice looking (no offense!). I was considering the Camry Hybrid, I didn't even know the C exsisted until I checked out Edmunds. Once I saw the mileage comparisons I was sold on the C.

For me I looked at price and mileage and was sold. I decided I was going to buy one before even test driving it. I only test drove it to make sure it wasn't a lemon. :)

I like everything about the C that Edmunds mentions... from the sluggish acceleration to the hard plastics! The ride isn't harsh... it just isn't a Buick boat suspension. I definitely like the safety features.

And Consumer Reports only likes "refined" or sporty vehicles. The big deal with the C is that it finally brought the hybrid to the masses with its low entry pricing. I personally run vehicles into the ground in 5-6 years (about 37,000 miles/year) and am not about to spend the extra money to get a regular Prius.

Ditto. I drive a lot of miles and I park on city streets. The Prius C is perfect for me.

I went to the Toyota dealer to buy a Yaris. They didn't have one so the salesman asked if I would like to drive a Prius C. I agreed, even though I wanted a standard transmission. I'm a crusty old truck driver who likes to shift. The Prius C impressed me. Went back home to do some research. Consumer Reports (I'm not their biggest fan) pretty much panned the car. Did I miss something? I went back to drive the Prius C again. I was even more impressed so I wrote out the check after we agreed on a trade in value for my Audi A4 Avant. I love this car. Thank you Consumer Reports, your negative review caused me to test drive the Prius C a second time. I now have one of my all time favorite cars in 52 years of car ownership, and I've owned some nice cars. To Edmonds, "you got it right" is all I want to say.

:)Congratulations to the Toyota Prius C and Prius C owners. When I decided I wanted a hybrid vehicle, I felt most comfortable with Toyota based on their success and experience. I liked the Prius hatchback best with the right set of wheels. With all the competition on market, hybrids will only improve.

Edmunds is the first place I go to get accurate info about cars. Their consumer reviews remind me of Amazon product reviews. Given enough reviews, I can get an idea of what regular people like/dislike about the car. Check out the reviews for something like a C class to get an idea. People can be brutal.

Frankly I just like the C better. I got the Prius3 put my own back up camera and I'm set. It feels kind of sporty to me. On the highway I drove a 140 mile round trip at 72 mph climbing a pretty steep pass. and got 48 MPG measured. To me that a big deal. I live about 5 miles outside of a fairly small town in New Mexico so I drive about 20 miles daily and get the best of both worlds with a daily average of about 53 MPG. I just plain love this car.

Edmonds had a great real world write up on the Prius c. The Prius C also has a better safety star ratings than the Honda Fit.

I read it funny I saw it for the first time and had never heard about it. Made up my mind right on the spot. It's one of the first purchases that I have made and did say later I wish I had gotten this or that. I think I will have this car for a long time.

Very similar for me. I had been trying to talk myself into a liftback for years and somehow by accident came across the c a few months after they released it. Never saw any advertising for it nor any motoring articles (because I tired of reading those many years ago), except once they appeared in my pro-active research. The c came across as a better fit for me and I had been thinking of testing driving both the c and the liftback but in the end by the time I got to test driving the c it was pretty much a pass/fail test which it passed. :)
