I am putting black lug nuts on my car and just removed the first stock nut and noticed a little washer looking piece attached to the factory lug nut. Any issue with me changing the lug nuts to a different pair that doesn't have these washers in the design?
    Thanks!

IMO, you definitely want the same type of lugnuts for the stock wheels. As for the washers, you could do without them.

The lugs on the Fives are sleeved (shank style) and they aid in centering the wheel on the hub. If you use an acorn type lug nut, it may not secure the wheel properly due to the gap left between the lug holes and may result in wheel imbalance or damage to the wheel or studs.

Using a pair that don't have washers shouldn't be a problem. The washers help get the lugs to the proper torque spec without damaging the surface or finish of the wheel, which could be caused by the friction from both hard surfaces moving in different directions

    *EDIT*
Looks like they the stock lugs are referred to as "shank style"

Sounds like you bought the wrong kind of lug nuts. If they have a rounded or angled bottom they won't seat properly on the wheel and could damage or loosen over time. Get the proper type of lug nuts, even if that means putting the OEM ones back on your wheel.

Good call everyone. Thanks for the feedback! OEM it is...maybe I'll just hit them with some black rustoleum.
