Don't forget to vote your choice. What Actress should play Jodi? How about Jessica Alba? More Likely Jennifer Love Hewitt will get the part. She seems to play those Femme Fatale types rather well.
It costs us more in appeals through lawyers for the death penalty than for a life sentence. Idiotic as it may be. Until they fix the current system, life in prison is less sufferable for the public.
That verdict was far from shocking don't you think? I think that the death penalty is becoming less popular these days, and I can't say I support it in this case. She should have to think about what she did for the rest of her life. I don't see how her dying peacefully is going to give his family any comfort.
Most say they don't see a woman getting the death penalty. I think it's 100% justifiable in this case. Killing someone other than justifiable self defense, line of duty, or war is the worst thing a human could do. Not only did she murder her boy friend, she tortured and mutilated him. She's got a date with the devil. Good bye B....
Put me solidly into the "I don't care" category. Thankfully, I avoided every second of that so-called drama on CNN. I am almost ashamed I know of it at all, but I shouldn't be as ashamed as CNN should be for having paraded that on (inter)national TV for several months.
We should know more today. She may just petition the court for the DS. The next phase of the Jodi Arias trial was postponed Thursday, a day after a jury found her guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of her ex-boyfriend. The judicial assistant for Judge Sherry Stephens said court will resume on Wednesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. (1 p.m. ET).
20/20 said Jodi is the most hated gal in America. Perhaps when things calm down the Jury will decide on Life sentence. In some cases it may be a moral and not a expense decision from jurors. Many cases in Chicago were reversed due to DNA tests and witnesses recanting testimony. The than governor put a halt on death sentences which still stands today. NJ and Mass outlawed state executions although federal law allows it. California has the largest Death Row population, however since the average case takes 20 years on appeal and costs millions in legal fee's it is cheaper to give Life In Prison but not by much $. Many older inmates will die from natural causes before execution. Arizona is a conservative state and erhaps it's jury is also so I would not put much faith in a life sentence but we may be surprised. Jodi was and is a troubled women, however the victim may have contributed to her manic event per Jodi's lawyers. It may be that very thought from jurors that may save her life. This info is old from 2008.
I'd like to find a cheaper way to incarcerate people, then for more heinous killers like this, isolate them so they might feel some of the pain they inflicted. Have not closely followed this case, but while I have no reservations putting to death people that butcher like this, it does allow for my biggest concern - what if the convicted is innocent after all? Doubt it applies to Jodi.
It California it costs an extra $90,000 per year to pay for a death row inmate versus a life in prison inmate.
