I doubt Honda will overestimate the MPG on Accord hybrid. Since non-hybird is 30 combined with 4 cyl / CVT, seems the hybrid better eek out 41 or 42 combined. I hope it turns out reliable. And i think Honda might be the first to carbon copy the Prius with next Insight as a full hybrid. Or maybe they don't see enough market for it.

Yup. It was definitely an Accord Plug In. :)

It was parked near our new charging stations. I thought it was weird to see one in Auburn already but there is a Volt in our complex and Model S in town so it's not too far fetched. Our complex houses the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and various high end environmental consulting businesses. so I'm sure there are plenty of enviro-techno geeks here. If it comes back I'll snap a picture.

I went looking for it today and it wasn't there. Maybe they don't work in the complex. Hopefully it's not back at the dealer for service. eek!

    I caught it!

Not the most flattering profile but I wanted to be respectful and didn't want to get the license plate or the driver in the picture. 20130509_122045.jpg

The wheels remind me of these Wheeled Warrior toys I had as a kid.

Thats a Fit EV on the other side of the Accord in the blue color. No test drives of either until they ran my credit so wasnt able to drive them. Another dealer said they would let me come by and take one out just havent gotten around to it

Ouch a $5K dealer mark up and wanting to run your credit just to test drive. How awful. No wonder they aren't selling many.

This dealer will def. not be getting my business. They had a $700 markup on the frickin CR-Z....a car that isnt selling very well and is a niche market for sure. I could understand the Fit EV but after speaking with the fleet manager yesterday at the Energy Showcase, she said to email her and come have a test drive. But that Fiat 500e at $199 with $999 down is enticing.

The markup is insane. The person in charge of that decision will burn in hell. LOL

Over phone w/ American Honda rep:

"Early September 2013 release date for Accord SHEV" which is the non-plugin hybrid.

I see a lot of BMW 3 ish in it. Understated, but nothing offensive, except for oogly wheels and oversized H. Regular EX-L needs to kick Prius out of my garage, but not going to happen soon.

As is the Penelope Cruz look alike in Abarth commercial .... well done Scorpion :p

"Accord"-ing to Wiki - 45 were sold thru March. I wonder how much the total went up thru April.

Some HAP tease. Too bad it's vaporware in most places.

EPA 46 combined in CS. Pretty good but is that Honda or Ford type of numbers?

Do people still pay dealer markup? They're only there so that the dealer can say you got a deal on a brand new model by paying MSRP. My family almost exclusively purchases first model year cars. It helps prolong the newness factor. I ignore the markup. I've never had a problem with a sales guy dropping the ridiculous markup.

$40k for an Accord would've been shocking last year. But since $40k Prius exist, this is inflation.

But how many potential customers just turn around and walk out after seeing a mark up like that? It might have driven some Insight shoppers to a Prius. They might even have figured it was a gimmick. Which just shows how the dealer is willing to play you for more cash. It wasn't hard to find Toyota dealers without mark ups during the hey days of the gen2.
