07 Prius side view mirror replacement

Hi. Backed into a tree with driver side view mirror. tree is fine and unharmed. So I have the replacement mirror, removed the old mirror and attached the replacement. My issue is the old mirror has 5 wire , red-purple-brown-black-black. Replacement has 3 wire, red-purple-brown. And the connector is a different configuration. My thought is to #1. splice new pig tail to old pig tail- red to red, purple to purple, brown to brown. #2. tape off the two black wires ( which I'm assuming may be the heated feature).
