Same poll with almost same wording as on the Honda S2000 Forum (s2ki). WWPDs choose?

I'm taking a 250 mile day trip by myself (fiancee working) on Saturday to visit my late wife's parents for lunch. The trip will be most all freeway. Forecast calls for clear weather & cool temps in the 50s & 60s. My new '05 S2000 has 6,200 miles on it and had it's last oil change 11 months / 100 miles ago. All the other fluids haven't been touched since new and will be changed in the next few weeks. Would you take the S2000 or the '11 Prius - which would be more comfortable, boring, and would get about 50 MPG?

Long drive for a sports car but it would be fun. Maybe a good highway drive will be good for the Honda.

    Prius is comfortable and economic

Had you said a long trip on winding canyon roads I would have chose the S2K. The freeway is boring in any car so you might as well save gas and not put the miles on the S2K.

Hmm....all logic points to taking the Prius.

However you said "Seize The Day"....if you perceive driving the S2K as "Seizing the day"? Then I think that trumps logic and reality....fire up the S2K!

Definitely the Prius. I think your drive should be much shorter if you want to enjoy the S2000.

S2k revs at about 4,000 rpm at highway speeds, doesn't it? That would get old fast to me. I'd take the Prius. If it were fun curvy backroads, I'd take the Honda.

    Easy.
If you just need a transportation appliance, the Prius is good at that.

Use some of the money that you save to go for a short drive in the Honda if you need to cycle the fluids.

I was ready to drive the S2000 today when at 3:30 AM I remembered that months ago I told my mother-in-law that sometime I'd bring down my late wife's sewing machine and cabinet so she could refurb them and pass them along to the next generation. By 4:30 I was cleaning the stuff up, hauling it up from the basement, and staging it in the garage to load in the truck once the sun was up. So I drove the Ridgeline rather than the Prius or S2000.

Sounds like a logical choice. If it were me I would take the s2000 on the trip occasionally and the Prius occasionally and the Ridgline if necessary to haul stuff.

I've driven my son's early S2000 150 miles at a time and wouldn't hesitate to drive one 250 miles at a crack, but I'm only 70 and not as delicate or stuffy as some Prius owners.:)

If you make the trip a few times a year, alternating between very different vehicles makes the trip a lot less boring.
