    I currently drive a 2006 Acura RSX base model (5 speed manual with 91,000 miles going strong) and get about 27 MPG on average with mostly city driving. I recently paid it off. I am sorta looking for a 4/5 door automatic car. For the most part I don't mind the manual but it would be nice to get a 4 door car so it would be easier for the car seat and looking for a smoother ride. I was initially looking at some Civics and Accords but ran across a decent deal on a 2010 Prius II with JBL audio and tinted already.

    I know this decision is more personal but just wanted some opinions on weather it is worth the trade in and better than a the other choices. I know this is a Prius forum so I will take results with a grain of salt.

    Also I live in the midwest in a major city but snow can be an issue. I do have blizzacks for the RSX and they should fit a Prius, I would just need to get new steel wheels to make them fit.

    Thanks for your time.

    welcome!:) you're absolutely right, you've come to the wrong place for an objective opinion.:p seriously though, take it for a good long drive under as many road conditions as possible, or better yet, rent one for a few days. it's not an acura, but it is a great vehicle. all the best!(y)

    In my opinion my gut says the Acura are dependable cars and your in the sweet spot now, car is paid off, still plenty of life left in the car. May be a great opportunity to not have car payments for awhile and just routine maintenance.

    However maybe you can shed some light on the financial numbers. What is the trade worth, what are you paying for the new car. Etc. There has to be some compelling reason to make this deal?

    Welcome to the site! The more time you visit here the more you will understand the love we have for our cars! I too am from the Midwest , ND to be exact and I have owned a Prius for 9years. I have driven through snow, ice , rain and whatever Mother Nature has dished out and have had no troubles at all! When I first considered a Prius I was curious about the winter starting because my car would have to sit in sub-zero temps for hours while I was at work, NO problems at all! And the heat is fast and more than enough to keep you toasty. When it's -35 out its nice to have a good heater!

    Not having a car payment is nice.. so come down to;
    1. How badly you want 4 doors and auto?
    2. Is saving gas money important to you? As you're not going to recoup it relatively speaking as your car is paid off.
    3. Are you okay with loss of power?
