    The company said it doesn't on the new ones. The old ones did need it done

    From what i see, it looks like they are trimming where it protrudes and has nothing to do with changing position of the hitch itself.

    I believe they were trimming the plastic covers where the hitch comes out.

    I have the Quality S. It's somewhat bulky and clunky looking, but the center sections unbolts with 4 bolts and gets put away when I'm not using it. All that remains are 2 thin brackets that are barely noticeable. No extra weight or wind resistance when I don't need the hitch (which is 99% of the time).

    I looked for that hitch online and couldn't find anything. Maybe they are out of business.

    at fuzzy1 and sfcyclist , i just spoke to a rep for torklift and there is a trimming of some plastic panels in the rear
