My 2011 prius tboned Friday...now what

The drivers side is crushed, drivers side airbags deployed,ripped ceiling fabric, and my car was towed. My husband was at the wheel and we were hit by a car who didn't see us , or look. ....We need to wait until state farm opens Tuesday to discuss what to do next. If they offer to repair, will this be an issue for leaks? I have only had the car since April.....so not sure if I am going to be reimbursed for a replacement or they will repair it if it is worth it ...any thoughts would help.....and it was a great buy with only 31000 miles on it. I loved my Prius ...AND the airbags truly kept my husband from snapping his neck sideways from the impact.....

Thankyou. I am working on the DV in Florida ,KBB value and dealer inventory as well to be prepared.....I worked so hard finding the right Prius I that could afford...I was thrilled with the car. Thankyou for your reply.

Thankyou for your responses...and yes, neck, arms and hands hurt...and hubby still hurts. We wait for an estimate as the car is now at a Toyota deal collision center........will know more when the insurance reports their estimate. And at least we have gap insurance if needed...

 

Its been a week now, the car was taken on a flatbed immediately to a local Toyota dealer at my firm request...the adjuster(at fault party from another state) came and left according to the colision department. No status update at all. The insurance company said it looked like a door needs to be replaced(before a report was submitted ).... d"on't expect a replacement or DV" . He also stated that after a check is cut, they will tear down the car for repairs and if they see hidden damage will repair it if due from the accident. I do have gap insurance.
I am so missing my car!

 

We will know Monday I hope....yes, injuries, days on the phone trying to patch up our lives and trying to work(self employed so no time to heal), and dreading the Monday call of what "they" will do to repair the car.... and we now have we have diminish value as well, ...so we wait. The car was one owner, pristine with nice options.....only hope is the dealership feels it will be a loss...of course they will trade it in for another one we have our eye on.....

 

Thankyou, thankyou JMD. Sound advice if repaired properly, I think it is the attitude of the insurance agent that ticked me off the most while we were trying to figure all this out. So stressed trying to work, and be on the phone for 2 daysworking out details .
The insurance company who assumed liability was beligerent to the manager at the collision department and hung up on them ....it has not been a nice ordeal so far.
Yes, we are very lucky, and our bodies should heal in time. I am not a car person, until the Prius, as I felt so safe in it. We had an Aveo which we took over from my son, and sold it to buy the Prius four months ago.....we would still be in the ER(or dead) if we were in the Aveo! And yes, this too shall pass, I keep telling my neck that!

 

I am sure the adjuster is reading this....just found out the estimate is $9000. OEM parts, tear down starts today. Angry, frustrated and trying to cope as I worked so hard for my car...and yet it was an accident, no one killed , and now I have a car I can't trade in for absolute value as anticipated. I can't even take a day off to figure all this out. So they will begin today once I sign authorization....

 

The collison shop just left a voicemail they have found more damage, notifying the adjuster to come and inspect.....so we wait until tomorrow to call and ask what they have found....the check was already cut and mailed of course, pending completion of estimated damages.

 

Another $3000 damaged discovered in the tear down process(middle column between side doors) and we wait 48 hours for the adjuster to come...then wait for his report .
