Did I get ripped off at Penzoil Lube Store in Flagstaff AZ. It was 0-30 oil.

Toyota filters retail at over $70 for the set. So that is less than the Toyota dealer would charge.
    Did they rotate the tires?

4 quarts at 10$ and a filter at 10$ and labor
25$ for the cabin and 25$ for the ice filter and labor

That's 100$ in parts, 17$ for labor, actually parts and labor are usually equal, you got a great deal;)

So now, buy some ramps for the front, a jack for the rear and do your own oil changes, then look around for cabin filter deals and well, a K&N ice filter is clean and reuse

Don't you want 0w 20 oil? But thats not to bad of a price if they did everything and didn't use regular oil.

Oil change and tire rotation at my Toyota dealer runs about $65, before any discounts. I buy my own ICE air and cabin filters and replace them myself.

    That's why they're called stealerships.

The prior owner of my Prius spent an outrageous amount of money for maintenance in the five years she owned it. You could say she got her money's worth after driving 135K miles in that time but she paid too much for every service they performed, no matter how trivial. They charged her $25 to replace the fob battery and $10 for the battery. Never gave her a break even though she was a good customer.

But the OP didn't go to a stealership. $116 for basic service at a quick lube joint? I suppose I should get accustomed to it.

Hollywood wants $50 for a single ticket to see WWZ? What's next?

Well the most important thing (if you really have a 2010 Prius) is that they used the wrong oil! Starting with 2010 the Gen 3 Prius is suppose to have 0-20 oil NOT 30. Maybe it was a typo because now that I think about it I don't believe there is 0-30 oil.

There are lots of 0W-30 oils and if 0W-20 is good for most of the country most of the time, then 0W-30 is good for summer in Phoenix.

You don't really pay that much for it - do you? I think I paid $11 for one at Advance Auto.

I would not know. First 2 years Toyota pays as part of free maintenance.
I'm sure his dealer sold him the genuine Toyota parts which is more than the knock off

Seems cheap to me. Just picked up a co-worker from the local Indy shop; she had her CRV in for a scheduled service and it cost $114 for a 5w20 oil change with complete safety inspection and tire rotation.

I agree seems to be the dealer going rate. Jiffy Lube is cheaper but they can strip oil plugs and forget about the inspection

Yeah. This independent billed 0.75hr at their shop rate of $98/hr (low to me), and then $20 or so in parts for the oil and filter change. I think it was a fair, sustainable price for a full vehicle inspection and oil service.

The cabin air filter can be had for as little as $10. I just paid $15 for the deluxe STP version at AutoZone. Toyota typically charges $49 for parts and "labor". Labor is less than five minutes, uses no tools and does not involve getting your hands dirty or opening the hood (it's neatly tucked behind the lower glove box). Every Prius owner should do this themselves.
