Is Level 2 Charger Worthwhile?

The Chinese government traditionally has not been very interested in enforcing foreign copyrights and patents. Are these $37.50 Chinese J1772 connectors grey-market knock-offs that don't bother with niceties like patent licensing?

 

Correct is correct. Point of fact and we now know. A forum is a place for learning and sharing information. PriusChat is one of the best forums I've joined. Lots of friendly people, great ideas, information and fellowship.

 

Do you have a link to Manufacturer, so we can read about the specifications and if they meet Toyotas protocols. Cost, shipping, Warranty? any other info?

I think the difference is that if someone just calls the device a charger, in a common usage way, they shouldn't be corrected if they weren't intending to give a technical description. Would you tell your mother or grandmother...no, no this isn't a charger it is an EVSE, the charger is in the car? Or would you just let it go?

If one isn't careful, one can come across as a pedantic jerk. In casual conversation, one has to be able to judge the proper degree of preciseness. I doubt that many folks in countries that use the SI system of measures say that a person "masses" 75 kilograms, they just say that they "weigh" 75 kilograms, even though kilograms are a measure of mass, not weight.
