Can you swap 1.8L Gen-3 engine to a Gen-2 (2008) prius?

    Do you know anyone whom replaced with this Otto Cycle 1.5 liter engine on a Prius GenII ? Curious. Thanks. June 27.13.

    I thought you were saying - existing Atkinson engine in prius can be swapped for 1.5 liter 1NZ-FE engine (which is in yaris) that has conventional otto cycle engine.

    Yes, they swapped the Atkinson Cycle engine to an Otto Cycle engine for the Land Speed Record car.

    But unless you wanted a world record, no one would prefer 31 HP to 15 MPG.

    For the effort and cost involved - not saying it isn't doable - I'd rather pay a visit to AutoBeYours with a wrecked Corvette in tow and create something truly remarkable. Many people never use the back seats anyway - may as well add a few hundred horses back there. :eek:
