The solar generator is not PV for your home - it is a small panel and inverter that you can keep in you car to run small devices like a cell phone charger, etc. If Enginer (or anybody, for that matter) could sell you a 4kW solar PV system for $4,000 I would tell you to run as fast as you can to grab that deal. I figure a 4kW solar PV system after federal tax credits (San Diego Gas and Electric has almost no rebate left) is about $14,000.
When I called one of Enginers installers he told me they no longer qualify for any rebate, as that program has ended.
The 30% is for a solar PV system like the one you have on your home.

Hello identity theft! Phone number, real name, address, that sort of stuff shouldn't really be published in a public forum even if you aren't worried about if someone comes to your door. I'd be more concerned about someone using the info to get a credit card in my name, etc.

I deleted the OPs personal info. I agree, that really should not be put out there like that, even if the OP feels it is ok.

I have a 2010 prius and would love to retrofit an Inverter Kit such as the AIMS 2Kw pure sine wave inverter but would also want to make it PHEV. Can I do both? what kit do you recommend? Enginer 2kw kit? or splurge for the 4kw?

Look at ConVerdant and Enginer. ConVerdant uses the Plug-In Supply kit, more expensive, but it is much more trouble-free. They have inverters too.
