Overreaction to Paula Deen?

Maybe PD is ready for reconciliation. I believe she needs to show the world she mended her ways.

Chuck I have never been the victim of Racism. However we cannot quickly throw these type of destructive activities under the carpet and label it as, well they do it why can't we, it's part of history, it's OK we call it life, it's a witch hunt, why get carpel tunnel, some celebs get away with it. That is the messaging I hear from you. It is the wrong message.

The proper message is , Racism is wrong and it is not tolerated in any situation. I'd like to hear that message from you. I have not.

The history of the American Negro, The American Indian and the Jewish population in Europe in the 30 and 40's were all the product of Racism. While you may have no sensitivity to it, others are deeply offended by it. So when PD goes on the Today Show and says ( I DON'T KNOW IF THE N WORD IS RACIST) and ( LET THE FIRST PERSON WHO DID NOT USE A RACIST TERM THROW THE FIRST ROCK) she basically deeply insulted all the people who have died for no other reason then one race of people thought they were superior to another. You may not be a parent who's child has nightmares when Racism rears it's ugly face, many do. I just don't understand why you DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS RATHER SIMLE CONCEPT.

Racism killed 6 Million Jews because the Arian Race thought they were superior. The history of Racism in the trail of tears for American Indians or the history of Slavery in America cannot be denied.

As far as PD, she made her bed and she slept in it. I just can't for the life of me understand why PD does not understand HISTORY and why Racism is dead wrong. That si what I got from her interview.

Can Paula be forgiven? I don't know. Will she be forgiven? I don't know. Should she be forgiven? I don't know.

That is all up to PD. Time will tell. I would like to see her reach out and have concrete steps to mend race relations. That I believe is her next step. In time when public opinion changes for her she may return to her occupation and regain the public trust.

So we can agree to not agree.

 

Can she? Yes. Will she? Yes. Should she? Yes.

What she needs to do is disappear for 90 days and let the mob forget about her. It worked for every other celebrity scandal, from sex tapes to infidelity.

 

Chuck I only respond when you belittle her mistake.

I'm not the judge and jury of PD

Time will tell if she is successful.

Unfortunately this will follow her forever.

The day she passes on as newspapers print her life story this fall from grace will be mentioned as a foot note in her biography.

The real untold story is if her personal history will reflect activities to right the wrong.

It is all in Paula's court. The world hopes she rises to the challenge.

So for now take a seat and relax. The future is within PD to change

Just a guess -- because you appear to be saying that a sniveling apology is enough to turn back the clock and return her to her former status and commercial empire.

What is sad is children may adopt your rhetoric thus racism continues from generation to generation. You are helpless.

If you think PD should be forgiven and everything restored as before only a few days after her bigotry that is your right but I just don't believe she can restore the public faith so soon. What has she done besides read a press release on you tube?

I did not smear Texas. I said Chuck from Texas. Chuck when you assume you make an A$$ of yourself.

Unfortunately PD her act will follow her forever. Maybe that is the lesson. Not sure why you have trouble with that.

Chuck there is no place in modern society for the Paula Deens of the world. The faster you grasp that the better the world will be. When PD transforms herself society improves for the better. If we allow this to continue nothing gets better.
