Hello. I would really like to get a set of Prius Persona 17" wheels. Is my only option to wait and find someone selling them or can I order them from the dealership? Is there a part number for them?

    Thanks!

Yea I saw that one. Also missed a Craigslist sale as well. I guess I have to keep my eyes peeled.

I sold mine about a month ago... I've seen three other sales happen in that time. They should come up. With the exception of the black chrome finish, they're the same 17s found on the V trims too. Check ebay as well.

EcoPersona - I see you exchanged them for the forged wheels?
I really like the Personas wheel finish. Did you find them to be too "blingy". I think they would look good on my Winter Grey Prius. I may just settle for the silver though.

Another good thing about darker wheels is it hides brake dust well. Even though the brake dust is minimal on the Prius...

You might want to consider the Prius Plus wheels. Looks great on WGM.

32k makes a good point, if you were to have to pay for a set of wheel full retail, you should consider Plus Wheels!

I didn't find them too blingy but I liked the forged wheels better. I imagine they would look awesome on a Winter Grey bc they were almost that color.

Hi all. I ended up swooping up a set of the Persona wheels on ebay for a halfway decent price o_O . Now I just need to make a decision on tires! Thanks for the feedback.

    nice! what did you pay?

Michelin's sounds like the LRR choice for overall performance..

    $980 plus $98 shipping.

I'm debating on getting either the Ecopia EP422 or Michelin Primacy. If anyone has an opinion on those I'd love to hear them. I'm in So Cal so dry conditions with occasional rain. MPG and ride comfort is most important to me.

When I was doing my search for wheels I had one guy at a tire shop HIGHLY recommend not putting 17"s on my Prius because I could lose up to HALF the MPGs! He said anything other than stock is going to mess up the sensors etc. He pretty much did his best not to get my business. After checking out the forum here, I'll take the Prius' owners advice over the tire guy. I know I will take a bit of an MPG hit but I'm ok with it.

I plan on taking the wheels to Discount Tire for tires and installation. Can they just switch the sensors over from my current wheels or do I need to go to the dealership for some sort of recalibration?

You should be able to swap the TPMS sensors from your stock 15 inch wheels to the Persona wheels.

My personal requirement is they have raised rim protectors as they help prevent curb rash from being a little too careless and they look cool as well. I don't know if the Ecopia EP422 in the 215/45-17 size has them, but the Primacy does. You won't be able to find out just from looking at sample photos as whether or not a tire has it is highly size dependent.

Tire shops are becoming as bad as used car dealers.

I just picked up and installed a set of Persona wheels too. I debated between the Primacy in 215/45/17 and the Ecopia's in 205/50/17 and in the end went with the Primacy's as I got a really good deal on them from Discount Tire. What I can tell you is that with the 45's the ride is quite a bit harsher, but the car feels much more planted especially when taking corners. As for the hit on mileage it is not that bad. With the stock tires, i average 49MPG and now am seeing 45.2MPG. But this is still my first tank since putting the new tires on and the hit on mileage may be a result of me driving a little faster around corners :D. Overall, I love the new look of the car.
