Correct it may have beeped on the last trip. I managed 48.2 mpg when I pulled into the gas station. I was trying to maximize the gas knowing I had one blinking bar. I've made it before to work with one blinking bar, but like you said, it probably beeped on the trip before and I didn't notice. I drove for a half mile to the gas station on the electric motor using about 3/4th of the full battery. Usually in EV mode the C gets upto 42mph before going to the gas motor, this time it let me get upto 45mph, but that battery started depleting quick at the speed.

It'll go to 46 on EV only, but not very far, as you were finding out. Glad you were able to get to where you needed to go.

46 huh? Wow, I haven't managed that ever. I'm glad the gas station was there, or else I'd be "That guy" pushing a prius to the gas station. Haha

Oh lord forbid... the only thing worse would be a pure EV pushing into a gas station. :ROFLMAO:

My 08 ran out of fuel on the freeway twice. Both times I was able to use the EV to get me into the station.
The first time it happened, I pulled off the freeway and waited a few seconds, The ice came back on and I used EV for about 1 mile. The next time, the ice stopped running and I coasted down to 40 MPH and used the EV for about half a mile. I was very happy to have a parallel hybrid

I've only gotten to 46 in EV when coasting downhill and already in EV. If I'm pulsing & gliding, I only get EV when gliding 42ish or less.

The ICE will also shut off at highway speeds (~62ish, at least) if you're just above the regen zone on the HSI bar and coasting downhill, but the EV icon won't show up and the only way you'll know is by looking at the energy meter.

The ICE is still on, but it's sitting below 1000 rpms according to Torque. It's getting around 150 mpgs at this point. :) vs 255 (probably higher, but Torque maxes out at 255).

No it's not lying to you... the ICE is turning over, just not contributing any energy.

You need an OBD II device to get the whole story.

I use Torque.. and apparently ztanos does too.

beats SGII for me.. more gauges and meters.. all on the same screen... and I use my Nexus 7 with it... so a nice 7" display.. my usual setup has about 15 different things on the display all showing at once.. i think.. (it's more than 4.. that's for sure.. lol)

I'm all iOS so no Torque for me even if I had a bluetooth dongle. The iOS apps don't seem to get anyone excited anyway.

Torque does look nice, but I'm happy enough restricting myself to four gauges and I really like where my SGII sits attached to the blank bit of dash behind the wheel. To be honest I normally only stray from my favourites to learn something new about the car, but then I go back to my usual gauges. I suspect if I ever get something additional to the SGII, I'd be more interested in logging lots of data points for post-drive review... but I think there are plenty of other things in the queue of things I might buy before going there.

Is the beep your final warning, or is there a low fuel light that comes on too?

The beep comes on as the last bar is lit and flashing. That means you have ~1.5 gallons left in the tank, but the car will read as 0 miles remaining the entire time.

On Friday (Feb 28th) I went 26 miles after the last bar started flashing and beeped with the display saying I was getting 48mpg in all of the S Cal rain we had. I filled up with 8.81 gallons. Don't know if I would push it much further... 445 miles on the tank. Fuelly tracking says I got 50.5mpg on that tank.

I filled up 7.9 gallons last night after blinking. So I think it blinks when the car has 1.5 gallons remaining. 9.5 - 8.0 = 1.5

Just beeped at me, I drove maybe 8-10 miles, before I filled up. It clicked off at 9.1.
