This might be the perfect chance to place a sign saying "All unplugged vehicles will be towed. Call CC towing at 123-4567" (the County Clerk #)....if there is any place to do so. If "nobody" takes responsibility for the lot, then who would know who put the sign there.

Bottom line: whether you use ice, hybrid, plug in mass transit, semi: you use the roads, you pay.

You might want to change the wording just a bit- "unplugged vehicles" could mean that if you were legitimately parked there charging, someone could pull your plug and get you towed. "Non-plugin vehicles" or something similar might work better. You are correct though, someone needs to step up and take charge. (no pun intended) :p

With all due respect- there's no way I will be installing private signs on county (or town) property without permission. Especially signs with warnings about being towed, etc... when it's not even a violation for a ICE to park in a EV spot in NY. The court parking lot has 24/7 video surveillance- it also wouldn't be too difficult for them to see it was me installing said signs.

FWIW- I'm trying to de-pressurize the current situation that I'm pretty sure was caused by an unknown EV owner persistently placing a cone/with sign in a parking spot.

Yeah... That would be a good way to get yourself in a bit of hassle I think. I would hope that many of us who live in NYS would contact the "Powers that Be" to make ICEing an EV charger location a violation that would result in a fine and the car being towed much like it is when a handicapped spot is taken by someone who is not handicapped.

You are right of course. While it is fun to talk about, I should have put it out as a fun thought, not a serious suggestion.

On a positive note, I rarely see EV stations ICEd in LA these days, except for the low rent areas.

It was also nice to see the four EV spots at Hershey's Park (in PA) not being ICE'd last week, event though the regular parking lots were pretty packed.

I guess we just have a lot of ignorant/entitled people around NY.. :(

Ohhhh trust me, entitlement is abundant in Los Angeles. Available on any street corner.
