posted some updates. will snap a few photos this weekend to show the phone mounting setup, i really love it.
i'd still love to get a link to this lol.
also, anyone want to chime in about this?

keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have a job very very soon. once i know this for sure, there's a ton of stuff that's going from the "wish" to "installed" category…beginning with the trunk mat, speed override, and electronic shifter. easily-installable JDM mods would come next, probably along with the sway bar…once i see that video.

engine bay brace? accessing the top of the struts? installing beer tap to center console? she who must be obeyed is uncredited.

to get to the top hat bolts you need to remove the cowel, wipers, wiper motors and the lower cowel. Honestly I could probably do it without removing them with some ratchiting shorties but all it would take is droping one bolt and you would have to do it anyway. Only takes like 30 minutes so it's worth it.

The plus side is if you do a front brace at the same time as spings it literally only adds like 5 minutes. Truth be told the difference between just springs and springs, rear sway and front brace is probably 10 more minutes. Hell even adding the center brace would only add 2 minutes as it takes longer to jack the car up then to actually do it.

Welcome back! Would love to hear how that shifter responds. Saw that awhile back and wasn't sure how it'll work.

    thanks!
i finally installed it and the speed lock override today. took me close to 5 hours to do everything, but I'm a noob and had to walk to the hardware store to get replacement terminals because my first crimping job was botched and I had to redo those terminals.
the shifter is great. if this was the only thing I was doing, I would be done in 10 minutes; installation is trivially simple. the default green colors and brightness levels are way higher than the car, so i really like the ability to customize them. i have it so that D/N/B are "yellow" (but I find it's much closer than green to the stock backlighting), R is red, and the OGS logo is white. all are at minimum brightness; R is one notch above that.
i've only driven it 3 times since but loving it so far. just need to plug the light in the ceiling because there's now absolutely no need for that illumination.
speed lock override works great too, though the wiring is a bit tight and the nav gets really confused when it's on if you're doing navigation.

"So after driving the car for two months, you start thinking about how it's deficient and how awesome it would be to make it just a bit better!"
